The reality of farming in North Idaho is a frost can happen at any time, so guess who got to put out protective row cover for tonight’s freeze during a rainstorm? That’s right, me!

Dropped by Only Local Farmers Market today to replenish our stock as their customers have been purchasing our items. If you haven’t checked out Only Local, you should, it’s a log cabin full of all manner of gloriously hand crafted or hand grown items of awesomeness. They have everything from handmade plant based dyed silk scarves to grass fed beef to hand forged housewares.

One of my favorite things to make with our culinary lavender is cookies. These are salted white chocolate chip lavender cookies and they were a sell out smash at our local farmers market this past summer. So here we are. We’ve been working really hard behind the scenes to get everything up and running. I’m on the steepest part of the starting a small business learning curve right now. We’ve lived on our farm for almost eighteen years, yet this is the first time I’ve really applied myself and tried to make a go of marketing what we produce.

That said, coming soon Flicker Haven Farm & Forge LLC will have a fully functioning website along with our Etsy store that will be offering all manner of culinary lavender and hand crafted and hand forged decor.
