Hello all of my wonderful witchy followers! It’s with a somewhat heavy heart I am making this post. The last several months have been very difficult for your girls over here. We have faced and are still facing several challenges. Like most obstacles they arise out of the blue! And so we must adapt and over come suddenly to carry on. This is the moment we are starting to “carry on”. Moonstone and Moss is ready to embrace the new year that started at Samhain and move into Yule, the time of rebirth, with open minds and hearts and follow our path where it may lead. We hope to be more active and hope you will all still accompany us the journey. ❤️

This is why I’m happy to announce that our next show will be this weekend, Nov. 21st, in Denison TX. We will once again be at the Highest Blessings Event and hope you will join us! We will only be carrying a limited amount of stock to the show, so get there early! And we will have special Yule goodies! I wish I could say that rune readings would be a part of the event but with the goings on we have decided to save that for the next show.

Witchy Tip #2 (sorry it’s a bit late) - Read/Learn, Practice, then Change.

Sound like an odd tip right? Let’s explain...

Too many folks think that when they start their magical journey that they must decide what type of practice they will do and how they will practice before they ever begin. FALSE! It is a practice for a reason and this tip exists to remind everyone that nothing is set in stone. Read something. Learn it. Try it. If you don’t like it? Move on. Change. Try something else. Your practice will evolve your entire life and there is zero reason to fear change. Everyone’s practice and different and unique and thus what works for one may fail for another. Your best bet is to reach out and learn from as many sources as possible!

In honor of this tip, Moonstone and Moss has put together a short list of book recommendations:
1. Wicca - a guide for the solitary practitioner by Scott Cunningham
2. Cunningham’s Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs by Scott Cunningham
3. The Complete Book of Incense Oils and Brews as by Scott Cunningham

Let’s stop here a moment before continuing this list. Clearly we like Scott Cunningham’s work. It is Wicca based but most of the info is usable by anyone practicing magic under any religion or lack there of. However, you may find his work isn’t as useful to you and guess what? That. Is. OK!

4. Sticks Stones Roots and Bones by Stephanie Rose Bird. (This book focuses on hoodoo based practice.)
5. Before You Cast a Spell by Carl McColman.
6. The Book of Tarot by Danielle Noel.
7. 101 Power Crystals by Judy Hall.

We found these books to be helpful, beginner friendly, and useful when first starting our practice here at Moonstone and Moss. We aimed to list a variety of things with a variety of practice in mind and we hope one will help you on your journey as well!

WHO IS TIRED OF RADIO SILENCE! We are. We apologize for the lack of new posts! Moonstone and Moss has been busy deciding on our next moves to bring you quality witchcraft products, intuitive readings, and witchy tips.
Our next event will be Sat. the 31st in Durant OK at Bubba’s Brewhouse for their Zodiac Night! We will be doing rune readings and have a small selection of products available.
We will also post our 2nd witchy tip tomorrow! So stay tuned!
