Where does the e-waste go?

A lot of e-waste is shipped to Asia or Africa for “recycling.” This may sound good, but in fact it’s just an easy and cheap way to get rid of the enormous amounts of e-waste we generate. A lot of it is simply burned - often by children. Children working in the recycling yards are at an even higher risk for damaging their health than adults.

What can we do to help?
We ask that passwords be removed from items like laptops, tablets, iPhones, and iPads because we always try to repair recycled items before scrapping them. By repairing these recycled electronic devices, we can extend their life cycles and slow the rate of e-waste mounting up. This, in turn, results in the need for more products to be subsequently minimized, and emissions can be reduced from production.

Lets work together to better OUR world!

Did you Know:

E-waste represents 2% of America's trash in landfills, but it equals 70% of overall toxic waste. 20 to 50 million metric tons of e-waste are disposed of worldwide every year.

What can we do?
Avoid the health and environmental hazards caused by e-waste. Reduce new purchases, reuse, repair, and recycle unused electronic gadgets and equipment.

We are closed until next week. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see some familiar and new faces on Monday.

Reminder: California Penal Code 374.3 makes illegal dumping on public and private property punishable by a fine of up to $10,000. Also, pursuant to Section 117555 of the California Health and Safety Code, a person who dumps illegally is punishable by up to six months in jail.

Illegal dumping includes throwing away hazardous waste (e-waste) in your garbage can or on your street. Save yourself the headache and bring them down to us! We pay for TVs, laptops, CPUs, and monitors in decent condition. If they're not, we will take those items free of charge.
