Book Drive for a Better World by VSA ARC Book donations for the World Literacy If the books cannot be donated or sold, they are at the very least recycled.

VSA ARC has partnered with Better World Book (www.BetterWorldBooks.com) to run a book drive that will benefit our campus, the earth and students around the world. Books collected will be put up for sale online to raise a sustainable stream of funding for Room To Read( www.roomtoread.org), one of the non-profit literacy partners of Better World Books that VSA ARC supports, or donated directly to Bo

oks for Africa or National Center for Family Literacy. Room to Read has developed world education by building schools, establishing bilingual libraries, publishing local language books, establishing computer labs, and funding long term scholarships. Any books will be appreciated but these are preferred:
• College textbooks and study guides (clean and readable condition) with copyright dates from
the past 10 years. (Please do not send course packets or custom publications)
• Workbooks (with no missing pages)
• Any book used in a college classroom
• Hardcover Fiction/Non-Fiction
• Paperbacks (must be in like new condition; copyright 1980 or newer)
• Former library books (do not remove treatments)
• Travel Books (with copyright dates from the past 5 years)
We will put out bins at different locations on campus and set up tables to collect books during the week of buy back starting May 9th. HELP US OUT BY IMPROVING LITERACY WHILE AT THE SAME TIME DIVERTING BOOKS FROM LANDFILLS.

We are now looking for 3 helpers who share our enthusiasm. The three main "drivers" are:
-Promotions Coordinator aka running back - Oversee marketing/promotional efforts of book drive. Spread the word!
-Bin Coordinator aka wide receiver - Coordinate team to setup, monitor and collect books from bins.
-Shipping Coordinator aka tight end - Organize team to sort, pack and ship books before deadline.
