Here in upstate New York our last frost date is less than 4 weeks away, which means all the warm annuals are getting sown this week! Today’s trays were a mix of Zinnias, featuring Basket of Flowers Farm all the beauty mix and Johnny's Selected Seeds Linen and Ballerina 🍑🩰🍯
When it comes to sowing zinnias, I typically start them indoor 4 weeks before planting out. My favorite method to sow them is using soil blocks! This way they don’t have too much transplant shock and healthier roots 🌱
Both linen and all the beauty will be new varieties to me this year and I’m so excited to see them come into bloom🫶🏼

The winters of northern New York often make me more appreciative of the bliss of fresh flowers in the summer. While temperatures drop into the negative digits, I’m anticipating the first blooms of the season!! With that comes the first harvest, first bouquets, and excitement to share them with you all🌷🍑🌼💚
