Everyday this week someone has come in and said “I heard you were closing”.
I’d be lying if I said there weren’t days that I wanted to throw in the towel. Call it a day and hide from the Karens and Chads and clock in to a job I could clock out of. I’d love to have a job that didn’t thrive off of social media presence and force me to fake a sunny disposition when asked over and over if I’ll take less than a dollar for something.
But I can’t.
I can’t because every Saturday a blonde haired little girl comes in and gives me three hugs and tells me about her bearded dragon. I can’t because a few times a month a lady comes in and we figure out how to build a balloon display and look at Pinterest together. I can’t because women walk in hating their bodies and look for clothes that make them hate it less. I can’t because without this store and the opportunities it gives me and my family we’d all be building someone else’s empire.
So, for now, we aren’t closing; but we are changing. I’ve never claimed to be normal. Lol I went from oyster shell painting, to jewelery making to popcorn.
I’ve learned a lot in our first full year. I learned who my friends are and who they aren’t. I learned what a waste of time it is to battle the rumors and I learned that it’s okay to cry; just make sure you so it over popcorn that’s already salty. I’ve learned my limits and I’ve learned my strength to surpass those limits in deep within me and I have found it.
We’re wide open. An empty room in the store doesn’t mean we are closing: it means we are growing.
We. Are. Wide. Open.

From my heart to yours I humbly thank you all for being friends and customers. This Christmas Season has been one for the books that followed a year of lessons learned.
We will be closed tomorrow and open regular hours starting Wednesday December 29, 2021.
I could not have asked for a better first full year, it would not have been possible without you all.

We have adopted a child through “casa” to fulfill their Christmas wish list. I wanted to give anyone the opportunity to help us move sponsor her that might want one.
I’ll fulfill this list and any money sent to help will be used to buy extras. 🙂 maybe even sponsor a second child. 💙
