The scenic wilderness and year round activities inspired us to open HH Ruidoso to encourage and supply products for visitors and residents alike to hike the many local parks, national forests and recreational areas. My husband and I believe life is grand in the Sierra Blancas. We hope our store helps you explore and enjoy the mountain life.

Come join us tomorrow morning at Grindstone Lake for an Earth Day Trail Clean-up! What a great day to enjoy some time outside and serve our community! We’ll bring all the necessary equipment, so all we need are some helping hands! We’ll be cleaning up the road that runs around the lake, as well as the John Ashcraft Memorial Family Trail Run 5K route!

We’ll meet at 9 a.m. at the Grindstone Lake pavilion!

Come help us take care of our spot in the world! We’re excited to see you in the morning!

Did you participate in this year’s Ruidoso Bunny Run at Cedar Creek?!? Our great friends/family Pam and her son Austin had a fantastic time on the trails this morning! It was Pam’s first trail 5K, and they both killed it! Congratulations, Hinkles!

(side note: we tell folks the Topo Athletic Traverse is our favorite hiking shoe we’ve ever worn, but it also makes a great, super stable runner!)

We are so excited to once again announce and host the John Ashcraft Memorial Family Trail Run! This is our third annual event, and we have a new distance and new course! Our new course is an all-trail 5K at Grindstone Lake (so you better eat your Wheaties!), and we’ll offer a shorter one-mile route, too!

We’re also extremely excited for this year’s event to be included in ’s Run Ruidoso series! This is a great way to keep your event momentum up!

Our friend John was a runner and strong advocate for the youth in our Ruidoso community! This run celebrates his commitment to both, and all of the entry fees go toward a scholarship fund set up in his name for graduating seniors!

What do Happy Hiker and Reba McEntire have in common?!? Not much that we know of, except for our new friends Aspen and Amora (and their owners Holly and Keith, of course)! What a cool visit from these two beautiful Great Danes! We learned they had already tackled the trails around Alto and were looking to hike more around the Ruidoso area! After giving them a trail map and pointing out our favorite spots, we had to get a few portraits, and they were seasoned pros in front of the camera!
