August Reading Challenge: Traveling Americans- Books about traveling Americans that feature iconic road trips, self-discovery, and deep dives into American culture and expatriate life. How our monthly challenge works:
After you read a book for the corresponding month, fill out the form on our website.
We will be drawing one name on the last day of each month to win a free book! Make sure you get those entries in before the end of the month.
End of Year Prize:

If you buy at least 20 books from this catalog by December 24, 2026, from Rozzie Bound, we will give you a $20 gift certificate in December. Please create a store account if you plan to purchase the books in person. Visit the store in December with your receipts to pick up your prize.

My favorite part of Thursdays is seeing the new books on our shelves. I’m especially excited that titles for our upcoming events are in. Join us next Thursday for an author talk on The Wreck of the Mentor by Eric Jay Dolin and on August 12th to hear a discussion with author Kate McElderry and scriptwriter/documentarian Rocco Giuliano about McElderry’s YA novel Declan Someone.

Worker-owner Talia Whyte attended the 5th annual Black Lit Weekend in New Orleans last week. This is a gathering of Black bookstore owners and booksellers to discuss the future of their stores and diverse literature. There were also many authors in attendance with new books coming out soon, including Deesha Philyaw , Daniel Black , Rhonda McKnight , Vanessa Miller , Ibram X. Kendi , and
Kenneth Chenault. There was a bus tour of New Orleans that included a visit to the legendary Community Book Center , where you can find Mama Jennifer (middle picture) sharing her southern hospitality with every customer, and to StudioBE , an art gallery showcasing murals by Black artists. And who knew there were so many types of gumbo?
