50 years ago, a young mom thought to herself "How can I make extra money for my three daughter's school clothes?" Fireworks!!

After getting her husband on board with the idea, it started with a small table with small fireworks right in front of her home.

Second year of firework-selling came and went.

Third year, it became her tradition.

Shortly after her fourth child was born. So she would definitely need the extra money.

Year after year she knew how much she enjoyed it from seeing her neighbors and her community come together to help celebrate our independence. She looked forward every year seeing customers and interacting with their children and seeing how much they've grown in the year.

This became her business that she loved and cherished.

The small table was put aside and a firework stand was hand built by her husband.

Throughout these years she welcomed 11 grandchildren that all don't know what it's like other than to sell fireworks on the 4th of July.

Year after year it became her legacy that she eventually has now passed on to the 4th generation of Apodacas.

Although it's been 20 years since she went to Heaven we know that she would be proud about what her ambition and small table has led to. Every year we sell fireworks to our wonderful community in honor of her 💚

Big thank you to our community in supporting her small business, because without you all we wouldn't be celebrating 50 years!

A piece of 4th generation of Apodaca Fireworks had went in to the Chamber of Commerce of Rocky Ford yesterday to donate a firework assortment for the annual duck races. Races start today! 🦆
