Now available! To announce the rebranding of RK Meteorites, Argo Navis Meteorites is offering this beautiful 1,811 gram flight-sculpted unclassified NWA chondrite. This specimen has numerous regmaglypts, signs of orientation, and a patch of recognizable fusion crust. The piece has a lot of character and displays beautifully from multiple angles. This is one of those pieces that “looks like” a meteorite.

I recently hunted the fall in Blacksville, GA. Not surprisingly it was hot, humid, and buggy with hours of walking and poking at “wrongs” with a magnet stick. Sadly, I wasn’t successful in finding any space rocks, but I enjoyed seeing some of my meteorite friends and meeting some nice people. A bad day in the strewnfield beats a good day in an office anytime! What’s amusing to me is that even though I’m back in Maryland, I still catch myself looking at spots on the ground hoping for a find.😅

RK Meteorites is now Argo Navis Meteorites. Argo Navis - or "the ship of Argo" - is one of Ptolemy's original constellations and contains over 160 stars. The constellation represents the ship used by Jason and the Argonauts in their quest for the Golden Fleece. Argo Navis was the largest of the Ptolemaic constellations and it is visualized as a ship sailing along the Milky Way in Southern skies. Although it was formally broken into four separate constellations in 1930, the constellation continues to represent adventure and exploration, both of which are part of my journey as a meteorite hunter and collector. Welcome to my new corner of the cosmos!
