Now showing: Jeffrey Marshall’s Truck Beds, an exhibit of grease pencil drawings on mounted Yupo paper. Completed during his son’s nap times, these drawings are brief, colorful, poetic snapshots of the truck beds outside his studio on Gloucester’s working waterfront. Opening reception December 13 from 3-5 pm. Join us for snacks, drinks, and good conversation! All artwork priced for sale and perfect for gifting.

Rick Telep opening reception for his remarkable painting collection, Driftmatter. Says Telep, “For these pictures, I walked the shoreline. I gathered driftmatter.

Any piece that I reacted to, I took. Bits of bone and root, fronds and stems of phragmites. The escaped buoys and rope are everywhere of course. With many layers of paint, you can feel the hand that painted them. There’s the orange buoy paint also dabbed onto rope. All of these objects have been through a lot! Sun, salt, storms, time. How long were they adrift?

The feathers are also adrift and laying everywhere. These feathers are each delightfully unique and wonderful, but I had no idea how significant they would become compositionally.

In a way, these paintings can be thought of as portraits of the place where the objects were found: Lane’s Cove, Atlantic path, Hodgkin’s Cove, Eastern Point. It’s like learning about a person by looking at their belongings.” Join us Friday from 6:30 to 8 PM for wine and snacks!
