Guests arrived to a beautiful garden ceremony surrounded by lush florals, then gathered on the porch for cocktail hour before moving into Village Pine Venue’s stunning reception space for an evening of celebration. Every detail was designed to feel elegant, welcoming, and effortlessly romantic.

Today we celebrate the man behind Hillside Florist.

Most people see the finished arrangements, the beautiful weddings, and the flowers delivered with care. What they don’t always see are the early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and countless hours spent making sure every customer is taken care of.

My dad has poured so much of his life into this business. He has never been afraid of hard work, and he has always believed that if something needs to be done, you simply show up and do it. Whether he’s building an arch, making a delivery, helping a family through a loss, or staying late to finish one more project, he gives his whole heart to it.

What makes me admire him even more is that he doesn’t just take care of this business—he takes care of his family. His children, his grandchildren, and everyone around him know they can count on him. He is the kind of person who quietly shows up, gives generously, and never asks for recognition.

Hillside Florist wouldn’t be what it is today without his dedication, sacrifice, and love. We are blessed to call him Dad, Grandpa, and the owner of Hillside Florist.

Happy Father’s Day. We love you, and we’re thankful for everything you do that so often goes unseen.

One of the biggest misconceptions about wedding flowers is that a florist just drops off bouquets and centerpieces.

The truth? A full-service florist becomes part of the team that brings the entire day together.

While everyone else is getting ready, we’re unloading trucks, placing candles, styling tables, fluffing arrangements, pinning boutonnieres, setting ceremony flowers, moving pieces between spaces, coordinating with vendors, and making sure every detail looks exactly as it should.

The best weddings feel effortless to the couple because someone is handling the details behind the scenes.

Funny story today!!! A must read….. one of our lady team members (we won’t say who in this post) was talking about how she feels men should surprise their wives/girlfriends in a BIG way some days. As soon as this slipped out of her mouth a man walks in the door and says I would like to buy my wife a special bouquet and make it huge. Something really nice. I want to surprise her this evening just because. After wrapping this bouquet up, this team member said “yes” in a loud voice. The room turned quiet. She excitedly says…. “That’s what I’m talking about.” It’s moments like these that make our team laugh non-stop.

This casket spray was designed to celebrate a life that touched so many people. Filled with garden roses, hydrangeas, lilies, iris, and other seasonal blooms, it brings together soft textures, vibrant color, and a natural garden feel.

Creating tribute pieces like this is one of the most meaningful parts of what we do. Every arrangement is different because every life is different. We listen to the stories, learn what was loved, and create something that feels personal to the family and honors the person being remembered.
