Wasn’t sure if I’d have time this year, but decided to give it a whirl! Only a dozen drawing prompts with this list, and I’m forcing myself to draw within a 2” x 2” square. Still just good ol’ pen and paper, as I’m on screens enough as it is. Curious if anyone will even see these as I haven’t posted in forever…

Day 1: Sweet & Sharp
This little guy has a sweet tooth, and really doesn’t understand all those dragons out there who horde gold. What will they do with all of it? Buy ill-fitting hats or fancy yachts? No thank you! Give him all your chocolate, lollipops, and taffies, please! 🍭🍫🍬

I’m guessing this year I won’t have time to do a daily drawing for Drawlloween. It’s been a nutty year, with next-to-no time for anything outside of work. BUT, I do want to participate when I can! So I’m posting this year’s list, asking for everyone who usually checks in to my page in October for sketches to chime in with your top 3. This will help me narrow down which to do if I get a moment. 🤗🎃👻

It has been a heck of a year, and I just want to thank every one of you for all your support! As I find myself with less and less time to explore all my crazy art ideas, I’d love to hear from you: what would you like to see from Lickabee in the year 2024? More plushies? More drawings? Realistic? Cute and whimsical? I’d love to know what it was that drew you to Lickabee in the first place! Posting this while sewing a plush merkitty and zebra. Photos to come. 😘🥰❤️

Still playing catch-up. Combined “redwood” and “beetle” tonight. I’ve always liked redwoods and stag beetles.

Playing catch-up, and since I’m behind by nearly a week I decided to merge prompts to make fewer drawings 😂

So, we have “celestial” and “hummingbird” combined; “orchid” and “guardian” combined; and “enchanted,” “hare,” and “fog” combined. (And I went with an orchid mantis instead of the flower)

Today’s prompt is “thorny,” and since types of trees have been on my mind, I give you the Osage Orange, or, Hedge Apple. Their brainy-looking, bright green exterior is fun to decorate for Halloween with, though I was always told they would ward off Boxelder bugs 🤷🏼‍♀️🍏🐞 but their thorns are impressive! And their wood is one of the hardest out there! It’s a favorite of mine, if you can’t tell 😂

Today’s prompt is “raccoon,” or as I like to call them, “garden thieves!” This guy is snitching a small pumpkin to eat. Good thing he’s wearing a mask. 🦝🎃

Today’s prompt is “kelpie,” a Celtic mythological creature that is often seen as a horse that is part plant / part fish that lives in the lochs. I’ve always assumed their manes would be made of kelp or seaweed.

A day behind, so I chose to combine yesterday’s prompt, “ribbon,” and today’s, “secrets” into one drawing. I felt a mystical stoat with ribbons and spheres seemed appropriate. Weasels are sneaky, and therefore, secretive, so a mystic one seems obvious.

Today’s prompt is “dragon,” and for once I was not in the mood to draw a mythical beast. I wanted to draw a current day dragon… so I chose the leafy seadragon. Of course these guys are off the coast of Australia, where most practically made up animals reside.

Today’s prompt is “daisy,” and I tried various angles for this… and landed on just the botanical study of a chamomile plant. Just keeping it simple today.
