Summertime is here. With any engine higher ambient air temperature causes increased oil consumption. Likewise a dirty air filter can cause increased oil consumption. Finally high or thick grass causes a mowers engine to work harder causing increased oil consumption.
This is the time of year we see a lot of engines “blow up” due to lack of oil because of the three factors listed above.
Please be diligent in checking the engine oil before you start your equipment. Also periodically check the condition of the air filter. Small steps that can stop big problems!

With the much needed rain falling over the next few days the grass will be growing rapidly. The moisture content in the grass will be very high so make sure you have sharp blades before you cut. Also watch for grass buildup under the deck. This can cause quality of cut issues as well as overheating of the engine
