Replica Props demoing the finished electronics hardware for the Voyagers Omni!

Progress continues on the Voyagers Omni replica! As you know, finished electronics were submitted some months ago. Now it's down to getting all the brass hardware and full color globes nailed down. Several methods were tried including UV printing but the full color resin printing really knocked it out of the park for us. The list of problems left to solve is now very short.

It was my honor to gift a Gummy Bear Handlink to Scott Bakula at the Q&A after the wonderful The Baker's Wife play in NYC. He enjoyed triggering it to make different sounds. I've provided detailed notes on how to get it to play all the sounds stored inside. I thought it was only fitting that Scott has his very own handlink!

Just before DragonCon. I had this crazy idea. What if we made a 2 inch wearable pin version of the Gummy Bear Handlink that can be clipped to your shirt? I was thinking about all the Quantum Leap fans who want to wear their fandom without breaking the bank. This doesn't have sound, but it has USB-C charging and I've already got a thinner battery in mind.

What do you think? And would y'all prefer a magnet clip or a safety pin style?

Here's our first time showing the assembly of the in-progress electronics and final enclosure/shell for the Calculator Handlink!

We are still tweaking everything of course. The circuit board is nudged off center due to the chonky battery I had on hand and the Function LED should be alternating red/green every second instead of randomly blinking. But overall I'm satisfied with the progress.

I'm really happy with how the back looks through the tinted acrylic and the gold designs. For the lights (front and back), I've captured all ~12 different blink patterns from the show.

I got to take the prototype Calculator Handlink out for its first public appearance at this year's DragonCon event in Atlanta. There are some things we want to change before the final, but overall it was a success! Also got to meet an RPF member who has been following our projects as well as Bill Doran of Punished Props!

We haven't posted an update on the Quantum Leap Calculator in quite a while but we now have the physical enclosure with UV printed graphics DONE. We have had access to the original prop and the collector who owns it graciously shared numerous high resolution photos and videos so we are able to reproduce the prop with perfect details previously invisible on screen (Even the Blu-ray discs!).

If you're also following me on YouTube, you have seen this video, but I did a deep dive of finding the sounds for the Omni from Voyagers. We will be doing a followup video as I have already replaced the red flashing sound to exactly match 2 episodes of the show as well as an "idealized" orchestral recording which some people may prefer. You have options of 4 different red flashing sounds and your preference is saved between power cycles.

It's been a long road getting... wait, wrong show! At long last, we have the PRODUCTION Omni final PCB. It has the red and green sounds, travel whoosh, theme song (optional), and falling sound (optional). We provided a few different choices of red flashing sound to reflect the variance seen in different episodes. We are REALLY close now.

Omni fans, does anyone recognize which episode the "whoop" and theme song are from? I'm going to edit out the footsteps with Adobe Audition but otherwise I think that's as clean as we can get.
