to increase vibration frequency to
2700 - 3200hz. The higher weight of a minimally carve leaves the player with unclear trebs and thick basses.

Players have various skin types, oil & sweat can impact varnish such as this rib area under rest. This 23yo instrument needs varnish repair to protect the wood. The affected varnish is removed down to ground and then color varnished.
