📸✨ Meet Krista – the eye, heart, and hands behind the shop!

With over 25 years as a photojournalist (including a Pulitzer Prize for her work with The New York Times), Krista has always told stories through images. Today, she brings that same storytelling into every product she creates—from bold, photo-based greeting cards to artful home decor and apparel.

Her vibrant, abstract photographs are the foundation of her work—printed on fabric and sewn by hand into one-of-a-kind napkins, pillows, scarves, tote bags, and zipper pouches. The same imagery is also featured on posters, notebooks, and greeting cards, making her collections a colorful blend of art, design, and function. Every piece is crafted with care, combining her love of visual storytelling with her lifelong passion for sewing.

Krista lives in Rochester, NY with her husband Mike (a musician and woodworker). When she’s not growing vegetables or renovating old homes, she’s in the studio, blending her love of visuals, textiles, and storytelling into everything you see here.

“I made this image during the first winter that I lived in Tucson, Arizona. I heard a rumor that the nearby mountain had a small ski resort. Having spent my middle-school years in Colorado, I love to ski. In search of the small resort, I found a mountain in the early recovery stages of a massive forest fire that occurred a year prior. The delicate charred timber, in strong relief against the bright white snow, stretches vertically with shadows slanting in the early morning sun.”

Zipper bags! Not your basic zipper pouch! Carry your supplies around town in style with my zipper bag made with gorgeous photos that I crafted on my travels to visit countries and art musuems around the world.

Studio day! Trust your crazy ideas, friends.

That's my Dad's level. It's one of my most prized possessions. He died in 1995 of a brain aneurysm at the age of 44. I wonder what kind of friendship he and I may have had in adulthood. He and I shared a insatiable need to keep learning, reading, making new things. I miss him a lot these days as I witness my husband moving through the grief of losing his father this past February after a long journey with advancing dementia.

Hug your people. Tell them that you love them. ❤
