Job Title: Production Assistant (a.k.a. Laser Wizard Apprentice)
Location: Churchville, NY
Job Type: Part Time - One day per week on average during non peak season. Busy season up to 5 days per week (usually November/December).
Ideal candidate: Flexibility in schedule would be great (thinking college student or retired/semi-retired person.
Pay: Starting at $20/hr
About Us:
We’re a small laser engraving and UV printing business, where we burn things on purpose and call it art. Our machines have names, our spray bottles have feelings, and we sometimes know what we are doing. We engrave, print, and customize everything from cutting boards, pet tags, tumblers, to signage and whatever else our clients desire.
What You’ll Do (Besides Not Blinding Yourself with the Laser):
Assist with laser engraving and printing projects.
Operate machinery that goes “bzzz” and “pew pew” with confidence with at least mild competence (no experience necessary, we will train and it's really just pushing buttons).
Package finished products so nicely customers cry a little when they open them.
Clean and maintain equipment and workspace because, unlike your roommate’s dishes, these can’t sit overnight.
Occasionally deal with a small business owner's crazy temperament. We apologize in advance.
What You Bring to the Table :
A keen eye for detail. Seriously, this is so important.
The ability to take direction in a fluid environment.
Ability to carry boxes up to 50pds on a regular basis.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Great organization skills.
A sense of humor, because things will go sideways and we prefer laughter to tears.
A graphic design background would be a HUGE plus.
