Look what has landed on our shelves! The new release by our local writer, Maeve Cullinane.

This slim but incredibly deep book explores the complexities that grief can have on a human, a family and a lifetime. This is Maeve's story, but also a universal one, as we all are confronted with navigating loss in our lives. Maeve's beautiful prose leaves her reader sitting with the nuances of her life with grief, while also finding hope and solace. I absolutely loved this book!

BOOK Discussion about Mac Barnett's Make Believe, moderated by Dr. Xiaoyi Wei! Dr. Wei is a professor of early childhood education at SUNY Brockport. Make Believe is bestselling children’s author Mac Barnett’s rallying cry for art and imagination, and a celebration of the power of storytelling in all our lives. It’s an incisive, intimate, and timely invitation to approach children’s literature not only as an art form worthy of deep study and criticism, but as a portal into the lives of the children.

Mac Barnett's book has sparked nationwide discussions about what constitutes "good children's literature" and if and why it matters. We are excited to hear what our community thinks!
