🚨 Shop Update — New Machining Capability! 🚨

We’ve added a mill to the shop and are now able to take on precision machining work. (Lathe is next — just waiting on leveling feet to arrive and we’ll be fully equipped for both milling and turning.)

Our first mill project: a Zastava N-PAP brought in by a customer who wanted to run a double-stack magazine. We completed the receiver work, performed careful fitment and quality checks, and handed it back ready for service.

All modifications are completed by vetted professionals and performed in compliance with federal and state law. If you’ve got a custom project or need precision gunsmithing, send us a message — appointments only.

Veteran-owned. Precision-driven.

🔧 Project Update – Ma**er Standard Modell & SMLE No.4 Mk1/3 🔧

We’ve made solid progress on both rifles in the shop this week:

🛠 Ma**er Standard Modell

Currently in the process of refinishing the VZ24 stock to bring back that classic character.

Still working on removing the old barrel—it’s being a bit stubborn, but we’re making headway.

We’ve ordered the remaining stock parts and a brand-new K98 straight bolt to complete the build.

🛠 SMLE No.4 Mk1/3

Ordered a new stock and accompanying parts to start bringing it back to life.

Unfortunately, a replacement barrel isn’t available at this time, so we’ll be making do with the current sporterized barrel until we can track down an original.

Appreciate all the support as we continue restoring these classics to fighting shape. More updates soon! 👊

So I wanted to post this as an announcement. In light of our perma ban on TikTok and their vague violations of community guidelines that we didn't violate. We are dropping TikTok from our social media entirely. We were already fighting them on every video we posted. So less aggravation on our part and we can focus on Facebook and YouTube. Due to this we would like to ask our little community to spread the word about us. We appreciate yall!

EPISODE 3 IS LIVE!

This month (bit of a late post here, had some technician difficulties)on The Fubar Podcast, we cover everything from battlefield heroism to custom builds inspired by video games.

We start by honoring Medal of Honor recipient Jason Dunham, a Marine who made the ultimate sacrifice by diving on a live gr***de to protect his brothers in arms. His story sets the tone for a raw discussion about combat, gear, and the brutal reality of places like Fallujah.

We also dig into:

The weight of gear Marines carry into battle

Gr***de types and how they function

The Russia-Ukraine conflict and foreign fighters involved

Understanding twist rates and how they affect your rifle’s performance

Military surplus auctions – the good, the bad, and the overpriced

A Fallout: New Vegas–inspired M16A1-style rifle you won’t want to miss

Whether you're into military history, firearm science, or just love a good story, this episode hits hard and keeps it real.

In this episode of The FUBAR Podcast, hosts Austin Chadwick, Cody, and Zach honor the extraordinary bravery of Medal of Honor recipient Jason Dunham, who gav...

Truing a Receiver – Why It Matters

Truing (or blueprinting) a receiver is the process of machining the receiver and bolt face to ensure everything is perfectly aligned. This is especially important for precision rifles, where small imperfections can cause inconsistency in accuracy.

Benefits of Truing a Receiver:

🔹 Better Barrel Fit – A properly trued receiver ensures the barrel seats squarely, reducing stress and improving consistency.
🔹 Improved Bolt Lock-Up – Smoother, more uniform bolt engagement leads to more consistent ignition and shot placement.
🔹 Enhanced Accuracy – With everything in alignment, the rifle operates with less mechanical distortion, leading to tighter groups.
🔹 Longevity & Reliability – Reduces wear and tear on components, making your firearm more durable over time.

If you’re serious about precision shooting or long-range performance, truing your receiver is a step worth considering. We offer expert receiver truing services to get your rifle running at its best.

🔹 Understanding Barrel Twist Rate & Why It Matters 🔹

If you’ve ever dived into precision shooting or long-range ballistics, you’ve probably heard about barrel twist rate—but what does it actually mean, and why is it so important?

🔹 What is Twist Rate?
Twist rate refers to how many inches of barrel it takes for a bullet to complete one full rotation. It’s usually expressed as 1:X" (e.g., 1:8" or 1:12"), meaning the bullet makes one full turn every X inches. A lower number (1:7") means a faster twist, while a higher number (1:12") means a slower twist.

🔹 Why Does It Matter?
The correct twist rate stabilizes your bullet in flight. Get it wrong, and you could end up with:
✔ Under-stabilization (Bullet tumbling, poor accuracy)
✔ Over-stabilization (Potential loss of efficiency, excessive barrel wear)
✔ Reduced long-range consistency

This is where Ballistic Coefficient (BC) comes in—higher BC bullets are longer and need a faster twist to stabilize, while shorter/lighter bullets need a slower twist.

🔹 How to Find Your Ideal Twist Rate
There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Your barrel length, bullet weight, and even altitude can affect what works best for your setup. That’s why using a Twist Rate Calculator (like the Miller Stability Formula) is essential to dialing in the right twist rate for your load and rifle.

💡 Key Takeaway: Every firearm setup is unique, and picking the wrong twist rate can affect accuracy and performance. Before making a choice, take the time to calculate and test—your shots will thank you.
