An update on our move. While folks are enjoying Historicon, we are still emptying out our home and BTC's home of 27 years. Would rather be at the show. Moving everything from the workshop is next. Hopefully I will be casting by early next week. Everything is taking much longer than expected.

Folks, it is with great sorrow that I have to inform everyone that we will not be attending Historicon as planned. Life has gotten in the way, and we realized there is no way we can be ready for the show and not kill ourselves trying to do it.

Our plan was to be fully restocked for Historicon, but all of the plans have been dashed by an unplanned move. Essentially, we found our house of the future and had to jump to buy it. Timing was horrible and although we thought we could get enough done to attend the show and move, those plans were a bit optimistic.

So, we pulled the plug on attending Historicon a couple of weeks ago. Just too much to do at the new place, move and get the old place ready to put on the market. I found that the 100-hour work weeks between my full-time job and BTC combined with all of the moving stuff was just too much. Right now, all production is on hold while I deal with everything else.

I will be trying to get stuff squared away for late July and early August to get the website replenished. We plan on attending Nashcon, Southern Front, Fall In and Cold Wars over the next 7-8 months.

Sorry to dash any plans. The good news is that I am gaining a ton of extra space for BTC at the new house. It will make production a lot easier. Here is the new BTC space with the floors freshly painted. Still a work in progress. We will also add a new casting shop in the future which will more than double our current space.

FLEXIBLE ROAD UPDATE

We have finally decided on a new product to manufacturer our roads with. After testing 7-8 different products/materials, we are ready to start casting product again. It will take us a bit to restock the website, so please be patient.

BTC will also be moving in early June, so that may interfere with the timing of production/inventory.

The photo shows 3 different materials that reached our final testing process. We think our choice mimics what we had been using.

We will continue to try and update some inventory and items between now and the weekend.

Flexible Road Update

For those familar with our road saga, we have been unable to produce our flexible dirt roads and similar products since July. The provider of our resin casting material was bought out and the new owner discontinued that product. We have been trying out other materials to see what will meet the properties that we need. This is an ongoing process. Keep an eye out here as we will update everyone when we make some breakthroughs.

So far, we have identified a great product that will benefit us for some other production needs, but it is not flexible enough for the roads. So only a partial solution so far. We continue to try other materials.
