Item #35 in the is one of the coolest prototypes I’ve ever seen in all my years of collecting. It’s a Giant Movie Mike hybrid resin hardcopy/protomolded 1:1 prototype that was painted and used in the Playmates Toy Fair booth when they were first showing the Giant Movie Turtles line. I obtained this directly from the Playmates VP of Marketing, who wound up keeping many of the Toy Fair samples over the years.

Please note…Mike’s headband will need to be glued back on, which is easy with some super glue.

Thanks for stopping by today for Item #3 in my event. Today’s item is a pretty cool little piece of history…

This is a rough clay sculpt prototype for the figure. Prototypes for this line have caught fire of late and this is a fraction of the price compared with the recent first shot and hardcopy sales, and it’s an earlier piece in the line!

This clay rough sculpt is articulated at the shoulders and was used as a starting point for the final sculpt, which was done in wax. Clay roughs are typically discarded as detritus once it has been molded and then cast in wax. That he survived all these years is a testament to the artist!

Event price is $1,500 shipped.

This is one of the nicest resin hardcopies I’ve ever held! Checking in at over 12”, this grey Incredible Hulk specimen was part of a planned Toy Boz line of rotocast superheroes that was unfortunately abandoned. However, it left us with this “incredible” painted prototype, which is for sale if anyone is interested. Please PM with interest.
