The 20K for the Greenway is quickly approaching.

This is a fun, untimed community ride designed to help people of all ages and abilities enjoy Roanoke’s greenways and parks. 🫶

You do not need a training plan, race experience, or special gear.

All you need is a bike, a helmet, and the willingness to join a relaxed ride that supports local cycling access and safety.

Plus we’ll have all kinds of fun going on afterwards. 🤭

Proceeds support Roanoke Valley Greenways and PedalSafe ROA

The most adorable bike club is back!

Join us Thursday evenings starting May 28 at Vic Thomas Park for a free, beginner-friendly group ride for kids.

We’ll have two groups:
• Strider group (ages 2–4)
• Beginner pedal bike group (ages 4–6)

Each session includes about 30 minutes of riding practice focused on balance, control, turning, stopping, and getting comfortable on a bike.

Parents/guardians must stay nearby to help as needed, and helmets are required for all riders.

We’ll finish each ride with popsicles!!

Thursdays: May 28, June 4, June 11, June 18

Join us for a Scavenger Hunt Community Ride on Saturday, May 16!

This is a fun (and free) ride to celebrate the launch of the Roanoke Region Food & Farm Trail! 🌱

This new, community-driven guide connects you to local farms, markets, and food experiences across our region.

Here’s the plan:

9:15 AM: Meet at Cardinal Bicycle in Grandin for the scavenger hunt group ride.

We’ll stop at 4 locations, then finish with an event at the LEAP Hub Pavilion, which will go until 3pm.

There’ll be prizes, live music, cooking demos, farm animals, henna, face painting + more.

Great event to do with the family while celebrating local food, farms, and community!

Come to our Bike Commuting Clinic on May 12th from 6 to 7pm (at our Grandin location).

We’ll go over choosing safe routes, essential gear, and we’ll also have some tips for bike parking, dealing with weather, and changing at your destination.

An event with one simple goal: get more people comfortable riding Roanoke’s greenways and parks.

20K for the Greenway is for beginners, kids, families, folks getting back in the saddle, or anyone who just wants an easy way to experience and support the Greenways.

And it benefits PedalSafe ROA and Roanoke Valley Greenways

No pressure. No racing. Just a relaxed ride and a cycling community that’s genuinely excited to welcome you.
