The grant was used to hire the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) Trail Solutions team to design and construct the approximately 2-mile trail. Please stay off the trail following a heavy rain or whenever the trail surface is wet or muddy. Doing so will help maintain the integrity of the trail surface for years to come with minimal tread repair. There are two ways to check the curr
ent conditions of the trail: follow@RiponMTB on twitter or call the trail hotline at 920-748-8881. While we welcome hikers and trail runners, the trail was designed specifically for mountain bike use. Cyclists have the right-of-way, and pedestrians are asked to step off the trail when a cyclist approaches. We do ask that if you ride or walk/run, you follow the trail direction rules as posted at the trail. Cyclists and pedestrians should always travel in opposite directions to help alleviate conflict. Cyclists will travel in a clockwise direction on even-numbered calendar days, while pedestrians will travel in a counter-clockwise direction on these days. Directions are reversed for both user groups on odd-numbered calendar days. The public is welcome and encouraged to use the trail, however bicyclists and pedestrians are the only users allowed. Motorized vehicles of any type and horses are strictly prohibited. During the College's fall mountain bike season, the trail will be closed to public use from approximately 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday (and as posted) to allow the Red Hawks cycling team to train.
