A signed vintage oil on canvas from NYC by Petruff, this modernist n**e figure is rendered from behind in warm terracotta tones against a soft, atmospheric grey ground.

The simplified forms and slightly chalky, matte texture feel very much in the tradition of mid-century figurative modernism, a style that drew heavily from artists like Matisse and Modigliani, who both championed the idea that reducing the human form to its most essential shapes could convey more emotion than hyper-realistic detail ever could.

The result here is quiet and intimate. She’s folded inward, unhurried, and the palette is so beautifully neutral that she’ll move easily into almost any space.
The warm wood float frame is a perfect match.

Size: 31.25” x 21” framed
Signed: Petruff, lower right
Condition: Age-appropriate wear; spotting on the reverse of the canvas, that has been cleaned and treated. Display side is beautiful.

A painting that feels like it carries real weather in it. 🩶

A moody, 1920s atmospheric fjord landscape on canvas with those iconic red farmhouses tucked into the hillside, dramatic layered mountains, and a still stretch of water cutting through the valley. The palette is all muted greens, slate blues, and warm earth tones with just enough drama in the sky to make it feel alive.

The style is very much in the tradition of Scandinavian landscape painting, which had a golden era in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Artists of that period were deeply influenced by the Romantic movement’s fascination with untamed nature, and fjord scenes like this one were a beloved subject, meant to capture both the grandeur and the quiet solitude of Nordic life.

The carved frame has that beautiful soft putty finish I love, and the canvas is signed and dated on the front. There is also a signature on the reverse. One small patched area in the upper sky is consistent with age and barely visible once it’s on your wall.

Size: 27.5” x 22.5” framed
Condition: Age-appropriate wear to frame and canvas; one patched area in the upper sky

I always have a soft spot for bird paintings, or bird anything really, and this pair is so good. 🐦

This early 20th century oil painting of two hooded crows was created by a Danish artist and is signed with the monogram EK. The scene captures two birds nestled among pine branches, painted in rich deep greens, charcoal tones, and earthy reds that give it that moody woodland feeling.

Crows are fascinating creatures and among the most intelligent birds in the world. Studies have shown they can recognize human faces, remember kindness, and even bring small objects as “gifts” to people who regularly leave them treats. In many cultures they’re also considered symbols of wisdom and protection.

I love the quiet, watchful energy of this pair perched in the branches. It feels like a small moment from the forest captured on canvas.

The painting is oil on canvas laid on panel, dating to the early 20th century, and comes in a simple vintage frame that suits it beautifully. The frame does have some gapping at the corners.

Painting: 9” x 11”
11.5” x 14” framed

A beautiful modernist piece that immediately caught my eye.

This 1967 Georges Braque lithograph, Oiseaux Beige comes from the legendary Paris art publication Derrière le Miroir, produced by the renowned Galerie Maeght. The series became famous for publishing original lithographs by some of the most important artists of the 20th century including Braque, Matisse, Chagall, Léger, and many others.

Braque was one of the founders of Cubism alongside Picasso, and later in his career he returned again and again to the theme of birds in flight. He described birds as symbols of freedom and spiritual movement, and many of his later works explore that idea through soft, abstracted forms.

The palette in this piece is especially beautiful. Warm beige tones, charcoal grey, and soft neutrals create a layered composition that almost reads like collage. It feels modern but still calm and organic, which is why Braque’s work pairs so well with vintage interiors. (Forgive the glare struggle! The colors are even more beautiful IRL!)

This lithograph was printed on vélin paper and published in 1967 in Derrière le Miroir No. 166. These prints were issued unsigned and unnumbered, as published, which is typical for this series.

The frame and mat are wonderful and give it a warm gallery presence that would look stunning above a dresser, layered into a bookshelf vignette, or incorporated into a collected gallery wall.

A true showstopper. ✨

This antique Bohemian hand-painted amber glass casket is one of the most beautiful boxes I’ve ever come across. Every surface is richly enameled and gilt by hand, with intricate floral motifs that glow against the warm amber glass.

Its long, slender form suggests it was originally made to hold gloves, a classic late 19th-century glove casket design created to keep delicate gloves protected and beautifully stored.

The form, craftsmanship, and decoration point to late 19th-century Bohemian glass, attributed to Moser (unmarked), a maker known for extraordinary quality and artistry, with many early examples left unsigned.

Finished with beautiful mounts, delicate ball feet, and a classic casket silhouette, this piece is as much a decorative object as it is functional. It would be stunning styled on a dresser, in a library, or layered into a collected vignette where it can truly be admired. A genuine collector’s item and heirloom object.

Size: 12.5” x 4” x 4.5”
Condition: Beautiful antique condition with a few light surface scratches on the base and a small interior chip near the hinge. Key not present.
Price: $1,495

A vintage tapestry pillow I couldn’t leave behind.

The front features a woven tapestry scene inspired by medieval European textiles, with a falconer on horseback surrounded by florals. These narrative-style designs were historically used in wall hangings, but I especially love them translated into smaller, livable more modern pieces like this.

Finished with a soft pink velvet backing and fringe trim, it has that layered, collected feel that works just as well on a sofa as it does styled on a chair or bed. Decorative, but still warm and inviting.

Size: 19” x 19”
Condition: Good vintage condition with very light, expected wear
Price: $45 + ship
