We are only a few weeks away from Independent Bookstore Day! 🎉

📚 Indie Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookshops across the country on the last Saturday in April! It’s a chance to celebrate local bookstores and all the hardworking folks who supply you with your next favorite read!

📚 This year will be our 2nd Indie Bookstore Day and we couldn’t be more excited! We have lots of goodies and activities for our favorite people…YOU!

📚 We have partnered with Stone’s Throw again to bring you tasty treats and even tastier stories! Another fun partnership this year is with Libro.fm! Libro is a fabulous company that supplies our readers with their favorite audiobooks! One lucky listener will find the Libro Golden Ticket that will be hidden away in our store! We will also be giving away some very cool Indie Bookstore Day Tote Bags while supplies last! Check out the slides for more info!

📚 We cannot wait to party with you from 9am to 3pm on Saturday April 25th! If you want to keep the party going all day long, check out for all the amazing Indie Bookshops celebrating in Vermont!

One year ago, we opened the doors to Hyperbole Books with an eclectic mix of our favorite reads and big hopes for our small shop.

We braved things on our own for a bit, juggling the bookstore with our sibling shop . Then for a few months we were graced by the support of wonderful friends — one old, one new — who helped us get to know the interests and passions of many of our community members and strengthen our stock and our story. In late summer, the stars aligned and we welcomed a full-time member to the team.

If you’ve been in the shop over the last seven months, you’ve undoubtedly engaged with the absolute TREASURE of a human that is Liz Carr. Her depth of knowledge across every genre is astounding, and her recommendations are always spot on. She wears a zillion hats in her role as bookstore goddess and wears them with deep humility, kindness and patience (in particular with the crazy family she has found herself a part of with us.)

Liz: Thank you so very much for all that you do. You are very much the heart and soul of Hyperbole Books and we wholeheartedly share this amazing milestone with you!

And to all of YOU, thank you, thank you for your overwhelming support over the past year, for your passion for reading, and for the countless unofficial book-clubby conversations you have with us each day. We LOVE calling Richmond our home.
