As someone who has been crocheting for nearly 25 years, I’m always amazed at the things I haven’t done yet… like a simple beanie! I’ve made a couple of beanies in the round, but this was the first time I did a simple beanie in rows. It was a super simple pattern but it gives the perfect snug fit with decent give. This was a belated Christmas gift for my fiancé (also actually the first thing I’ve ever made him 🙈)- he loves it!! Have you made a beanie like this? Share your favorite winter style! 🧶

I am making my first ever piece of clothing! Working on a tank top to wear to the / in May, which means I have 2 months. I’ve picked the Chasing Summer Tank Top pattern from , and so far it’s pretty beginner friendly! And of course, to add some extra meaning, I’m using things I got from in the fall- this gorgeous yarn from in color “pennies from heaven”, and some stitch markers I got from 🥰. Ever wonder how crochet patterns get to the point where they are ready for you to use them? Testing patterns has been one of my favorite ways to try new patterns, develop some relationships/community within the fiber arts community, and to learn more about writing patterns myself.

Sometimes a designer you really like will post about opportunities to test, but also there are whole Facebook groups, just dedicated to testing patterns. Check out the blog on my website for some groups you can try and more information about the process of testing patterns.
