See the post for Reed // Addie’s 4th grade teacher her is also a gem, and I am so grateful for her. I work hard on creating designs that fit their personalities, and I was very proud of how this turned out. It’s super fun to have the kids sign the back as well.

Every year May hits and it’s like a tornado. Or a hurricane. Maycember. Every parent knows what I’m talking about 🫠 This year, everything in me shut down as soon as my guild presidency ended at the end of March. I needed a big break from everything. I’m much better now, but learning how to leave space for Maycember is definitely in next years planning 😂 Reed’s 1st grade teacher is a gem, and he had an amazing year thanks to her. I can never tell them thank you enough. ❤️

The Soccer quilt is still one of my all time favorite quilts I have made. The simplicity of a large log cabin blocks, the strips all different widths mainly to accommodate scraps and fabric designs, the ability to play I Spy with the kids, the canvas backing and water-wicking fleece batting, just perfection 🥳 it’s always so satisfying to see quilts in the wild instead of folded on a shelf ❤️

“Beware of the Garden Wolf” 🐺🌿

Started this one years ago and finally finished it just in time for the Richmond Quilters Guild Panel Palooza exhibit at Mid-Atlantic Quilt Show this past February. I backed it in the coziest minky because this one was never meant to live on a wall forever—it’s headed for someone’s lap.

And yes… that’s a 3/8” coral border. Because 1/4” was too small, 1/2” was too big, and apparently I like making things harder than they need to be. Worth it. Always.

Another round of Legit Kits fun—custom quilted these beauties and honestly, the front/back combo never gets old. The two minis are Out of Office and Bon Voyage, which feels like a personality trait at this point. Ran it on my with Glide thread like a dream (zero drama, we love to see it). And if you don’t need another quilt…turn it into a bag like I did. Problem solved 😎

This one? Quilted by pure intuition. 💙 Custom quilted this Legit Kits Blue Muscle car quilt made with Confetti Cottons. I just leaned all the way into it—making calls mid-stitch, chasing texture, and letting the quilt lead. Lots of detail, lots of thread changes, and exactly the kind of bold, high-contrast finish I wanted. My handles these quilts without a hitch, and I’m loving my switch over to Glide thread.

Day 3: Sewing Machines 💙

I only have eyes for my Juki 2010 and my Innova… and alllll the stickers.

Speed. Strength. Reliability.
No drama. No hesitation. Just power when I need it.

That knee lift and presser foot thread cutter on the Juki? Total game changers for FPP. Once you’ve had them, there’s no going back.

These machines work as hard as I do — and that’s saying something.

I discovered quilting through curiosity — but I stayed for the challenge and the creative outlet.

I love that it stretches me. There is always something new to learn. A sharper point. A smoother curve. A better way to approach a complex pattern. It pushes my technical skills while giving my creativity room to breathe.

And now, one of my favorite parts is teaching — helping others realize they can do hard things with fabric. Watching that confidence grow never gets old.

That’s what keeps me coming back to my sewing machine.

First wash = full personality reveal.

The texture. The soft drape. The crinkle that makes it feel like a quilt instead of just fabric.

Some people love a perfectly pressed, crisp finish. Some of us live for the crinkle.

Tell me where you stand.
