Welcoming Ketra co-founder Horace Ho to the INARAY Lighting Lab was a special moment for our team.

As one of the earliest Ketra dealers in Richmond, we’ve believed for years that lighting should do more than illuminate a space — it should adapt, respond, and enhance the way people live.

Ketra changed the conversation around light by making it possible to mimic the natural rhythm and warmth of daylight indoors. Today, that vision continues through dynamic lighting experiences that support comfort, wellness, architecture, and atmosphere in extraordinary ways.

It was an honor to share our Patterson Avenue Lighting Lab with Horace and our Lutron rep, Matt Flurer, and to hear their feedback on how we’re bringing adaptive lighting to life for homeowners and designers throughout Virginia.

Recent FCC action is creating headlines! If you’ve seen posts about the government cracking down on networking equipment, or received emails suggesting that all foreign-made routers are banned you’re not alone. The reality however is more nuanced.

The Federal Communications Commission has increased scrutiny on networking equipment entering the United States due to rising concerns around cyber threats tied to foreign actors. Current action is aimed at new consumer-grade routers entering the U.S. market, not the home networks already installed and working today. In other words, your current system is not the issue.

What this does highlight is something we see every day: your home network is no longer just about internet access. It supports smart lighting, cameras, streaming, voice control, automation, and other connected systems that depend on a secure, reliable foundation.

That is where professional design matters. A professionally installed network is different from an off-the-shelf consumer setup and recent government focus has reinforced this distinction. The right system depends on proper equipment selection, secure configuration, device segmentation and ongoing support.

For homeowners, the message is not panic, it is planning. If your home depends on connected technology, your network should be treated like an essential system, not an afterthought.
