🧵✨ A Little Life Update ✨🧵
Hey everyone!

After much reflection, I’ve decided to pause teaching sewing classes after July 1st. All current students will be completing their projects or learning one more skill before that.

With four more years of college ahead—including what's left of my bachelor’s and getting my master’s degree—plus my work with the Manhattan Project National Historical Park Hanford Unit as a Docent, CBC as an exhibit curator consultant as well as volunteering with the B Reactor Museum Association as a public historian and being a wife and mom, my schedule is intense. I need to step back from teaching to protect my energy and focus on the next chapter.

I’ve absolutely loved building this community over the past four years. Teaching sewing has been such a joy and a grounding force in my life. I’m hoping to offer occasional workshops in the future when my schedule allows—but for now, this is goodbye (for a little while).

Thank you for being part of this journey and for the privilege of being your sewing teacher!

This wasn't an easy decision to make. Effective immediately, the knitting and sewing business side of Enola Mae Atelier is officially closing. As the fiscal climate changed these past two years, I had less business coming in and sought out other work at the Manhattan Project National Historical Park Hanford Unit. If you're into old town sites, ranches and nuclear reactors I'd love to see you at the park during tour season! I'm also working on getting my degree in history with the goal of getting my master's degree in teaching secondary education.

The Academy will remain open for as long as I can continue to teach as my schedule allows. All sewing classes are currently full and I am not accepting new students at this time.

Thank you so much for the privilege of being your favourite seamstress and knitter over the past four years!

This is a friendly reminder of the Academy's tuition policy. If you aren't current on your balance due, your sewing lessons will be suspended until you are current. Please understand that this is my livelihood.

Tuesday sewing classes are cancelled for tomorrow and possibly all sewing classes for this week. I got selected for reporting for jury duty. Please stay tuned for further updates.

As of right now, the Atelier is booked out until November and currently closed to additional custom work, alterations and repairs clients.

Sewing classes for the 2023-2024 school year will be starting September 6th. 🙌

As of right now my Wednesday and Friday afternoon class blocks are full, pending confirmation of enrollment for one student. I will no longer be offering Thursdays. I will be in the Atelier on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11-2:45pm.

I'm going to be following the school district calendar and will not be teaching on any holidays that are on these days as well as during Thanksgiving break, winter break, spring break and summer break.

This is going to be a fantastic year!

Dear Students, Prospective Students and Families:

I understand that these economic times are hard and sewing classes are a luxury. Everybody is feeling the squeeze and supporting local businesses is just as important as ever. I love having the privilege of being able to teach sewing and textiles classes and I couldn't do it without your support.

I also cannot stay in business doing so without your sewing class tuition paid upon receipt of invoice. If your tuition is not at zero balance, I will not be scheduling classes until it is brought up to current effective immediately.

Hey everyone! Just a friendly reminder that the summer sewing classes cannot happen without active sign-ups. Without active sign-ups, the classroom at Quiltmania won't be able to be reserved and I won't be able to make childcare arrangements for my kids.

You can sign up via email at [email protected], I'm currently working on adding the group class and private classes to the website.

Sign-ups with deposit to reserve your spot this summer will be closing on June 9th at 8pm!

Hey everyone. Unfortunately the flyer for the middle school and high school summer sewing class will not be in your email inbox through the peach jar app via Richland School District.

Peach Jar wants $500 to distribute the flyer in the Tri-Cities area schools after the districts approve it and the Atelier just doesn't have that kind of money.

Not going to lie, definitely feeling a bit defeated by that.

I just want to teach sewing and textiles in an effort to help keep it an important life skill and reduce the carbon footprint of fast fashion by empowering people to sew with confidence. If more people know how to sew, they're more likely to up cycle and repair their clothing which lengthens the garment cycle.

I'll be increasing my Facebook marketplace usage and buy sell trade page postings. Please keep sharing my posts about the class or any other classes that come up!
