Excuse me while I plant my gardens........ I finally have all but 12 cauliflower plants in the ground. I found those after I thought everything was done 🤣
And yes, the last of the dandelions are gone so I've started mowing the lawn. The amount of bumblebees i have is great so its totally worth having a "messy" lawn. I'm actually currently mowing around daisies and paint brush.
I made a squash/pumpkin patch behind Ian's house aka my extra yard. Last year they overtook my garden so we'll give them their own space.
The kitchen garden has box beds which have been planted for several weeks.
This last week I got my main garden in and mulched!!! If I dont mulch as I plant it just get so far behind.
Made an asparagus bed at Ian's. Hope it does better in that location then where I have it.
Now to turn to my flower beds and landscaping. Something about a wedding coming soon 🤔 Juliette

Are you planning Father’s Day dinner, a summer cookout, or just an easy meal outside? Maple brings the perfect touch of sweet, smoky, and savory flavor to the grill.

Here are three of my favorite ways to grill with maple:

🥗 Maple Grilled Vegetable Skewers
Zucchini, peppers, onion, and asparagus marinated in Hi Vue Maple French Dressing for a simple seasonal side.

🥩 Maple Bourbon Grilled Steak Tips
A bold, sweet-and-smoky favorite with maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, Dijon, black pepper, and bourbon if you’re feeling fancy.

🍗 Maple Glazed Grilled Chicken
Family-friendly, easy to make, and full of flavor; made with maple syrup, garlic, smoked paprika, and Hi Vue Maple French Dressing.

Swipe through for the recipes and save this post for your next cookout.

🍁 Which one would you try first? Veggies, steak tips, or chicken?

I had the cutest and bestest help today at the sugarhouse - their Mom is pretty good help too 🤣
I would actually go insane without my niece Ashley. She is the main cabin cleaner, farm stand organizer and overall general keep me from spinning in circles person. Plus did I mention the cute kids?
We redid the farm stand, canned a barrel of robust syrup, did you see the new glass bottles? The log cabins will be wedding favors.
Elliot helped count and log the syrup we canned. Packed a couple orders to ship.
Shelves are stocked. Fridge is full of goodies. New signs are made and hanging.

If you’ve been thinking about a summer reset, this is your sign!🌿

Our cabin at Hi Vue Farm is a place to slow down, breathe deep, and reconnect with the quiet things that matter.

Morning coffee outside.
Birdsong among the trees.
Private trails to wander.
Evening light over the farm.

This time of year is some of the best weather to experience mindful birding, nesting season, and the simple peace of being surrounded by nature.

And when you’re ready to explore, there’s plenty nearby:
🚣 Kayaking on the Missisquoi Wild & Scenic River (just about 2 miles away)
🚲 Biking or walking the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail (about 5 miles away)
⛳ Golf courses (with 4 courses within 20 miles)
🥾 Private trails right here on the farm
🎨 A peaceful setting for artists, photographers, writers, and anyone who needs a reset

Whether you’re booking through Airbnb, Hipcamp, or Harvest Hosts, now is the time to plan your summer stay.

Mom and I worked together this morning at a large farm so we're both tired, but one can never be too tired to stroll through the lilacs.
Mom's yard is incredible. Singles, doubles, triples. Pinks, purples, Yellows, whites and blues. And that's just the lilacs. The crab apples are stunning too. This must be what heaven smells like.
Plus chicks of course and meet Sophia, mom's new livestock guard dog.
The landscapes are just after I left her house. It's simply stunning.

Our special spot at Hi Vue Farm is a place to unplug from the noise and reconnect with what matters.

Slow mornings with coffee outside.
Quiet walks through the woods.
Birdsong instead of notifications.

Spring and early summer bring the forest to life — the perfect time for mindful birding, exploring private trails, or simply being still for a while.

And if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, there are miles of rivers and trails just minutes away — kayak, bike, and explore the Missisquoi Rail Trail and the Missisquoi Wild & Scenic River.

Whether you’re an artist, photographer, or just in need of a reset… there’s space for you here.

Nature walk in the misty rain with a friend of mine yesterday. Just what I needed.
So excited to see am old beaver dam coming back to life and to find lady slippers!!

Have you found any cool plants this spring?

05/20/2026

Birds, bees, and blossoms 💛 It’s all happening at once.

After a long winter, the woods don’t wake up slowly… they come alive all at once.

The birds are back and nesting.
The bees are out, working the first blooms.
Wildflowers are starting to open across the forest floor.

And the farm is busy too — fixing fences, working in the gardens, and settling into the rhythm of a new season.

It’s loud. It’s busy. It’s full of life.
And honestly, this is my favorite time of year.

There’s something about stepping outside and hearing it, seeing it, feeling it… that reminds you how connected everything really is.

If you’ve never experienced spring like this, it’s worth slowing down for.
