We went out to Nebraska Furniture Mart because we're thinking about changing up some of our bedroom floors and we wanted to get some ideas. Wow! If you haven't been there, you simply have to stop in. And make sure you carve out a couple of hours minimum because it's huge. There's no other way to put it! They have everything! On our way home we were starving so we stopped by Lazy Dog Restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised as the food was yummy and the facility was first class. They have so many Appetizers--Grilled Artichokes, Burrata + Roasted Beet Salad, Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla, Wok-Fired Calamari & so, so much more! We dined with some friends at Asian Mint on Oaklawn. This is one of the absolute best Asian Fusion places in Dallas. We started with Shrimp Rangoon and the Fried Calamari just to get the taste buds going. So good! I dined on the Asian Vegetables Stir Fry. Perfect for me and so healthy! Rena had the Steamed Sea Bass. She said it was the best Sea Bass she had ever had! Rick devoured the Orange Chicken and Roger enjoyed the Grilled Salmon Teriyaki. We split a bottle of Sauvignon blanc. Everyone was happy! We each got a taste of the Double-Fudge Nut Brownie cap the evening off. OMG! You will love this place! The evening we went to Rj Mexican Cuisine http://www.rjmexicancuisine.com/ we passed by a new upscale bar & bistro, 3 Eleven Kitchen & Cocktails. Rick & I met Kayla and Dan to check this place out. We had a fantastic time! Rick chose the Ribeye. He said it was so good it compared with any top-notch steakhouse. Dan ordered the Braised Angus Beef Short Rib. He was also very, very happy! Kayla and I are like sisters when it comes to dining choices. We both enjoy Seafood and we both enjoy eating healthy. Kayla had the Halibut and I savored the Salmon. We shared the Seasonal Harvest to start with. We were very satisfied. The guys split the Crispy Calamari and the Giant Crab Cake for starters. Jackson and Caroline recently came in from Cleveland to watch the Indians play the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park. Jackson is Rick's fraternity brother and they're very close. Caroline and I have become good friends too. They had a great time. You would too if you stayed at the Ritz Carlton! Of course, they wanted Mexican food because they can't get that in Ohio! We've been wanting to try Rj Mexican Cuisine as we've heard so many good things about it. And Rick prepared for a grand dinner. He worked out at Gold's Signature Gym in Richardson for 3 hours! Rj Mexican Cuisine was a fabulous choice! Rick chose the Ribeye Ranchero. Fantastic! He's still talking about it! Jackson and Caroline wanted traditional Tex-Mex. So we ordered Guacamole (Rj's recipe is very tasty!) and Chili Con Queso to get them started. They shared the Sizzling Steak Fajitas (they're out of this world!) and the Chile Relleno (Yummy!). One of my good friends, Monica, is now the Social Catering Manager at The Westin-Park Central. I've known her for years in her previous position as the Catering Manager at Urban Crust ,http://www.urbancrust.com/ in Historic Downtown Plano, one of my all-time favorite places. My friend, Kayla, joined me in touring the facility. Of course, Monica wanted to show off the meeting rooms and event venues. It's really a first-class facility in the heart of North Dallas that can accommodate events of all sizes including Corporate Meetings, Weddings, Anniversaries, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and so much more! Our luncheon was at Urban South Dine. The menu was perfect for me consisting of Light and Healthy dishes including Soup (try the Wild Mushroom Bisque), Salad (you can choose from Caesar, Spinach & Arugula or Greek and add Salmon, Chicken and/or Shrimp--I was in heaven!) They also have a tasty selection of Flatbreads and Savory Burgers (of course, after working out at Sweat early in the morning, Rick would devour one of those!). The surprise on the menu was the assorted Tacos ranging from the Smoked Jalapeno Rubbed Salmon (as pictured) to a Veggie Lover to a Gyros and more! For the Executive on the go or Friends getting together, you can drive into the garage from the back and walk right into the hotel (staying out of the weather, particularly as hot as it's been) or valet. I went out with the girls this evening so Rick was on his own. He's usually with the guys but he had some reading to get done and needed the solo time for himself. After a couple hours of tennis at T Bar M Racquet Club, he showered and drove down to a place he’s been wanting to try, Pazzo Uptown. He ordered a glass of Cab to get things started. His dinner consisted of a bowl of Lentil Soup followed by The Crispy Piece of the Lasagna (pictured) (Bolognese, Spinach Noodles, Fresh & Aged Cheeses). He said the Soup was Outstanding. The Lasagna was Exceptional! Rick went to school in St. Louis and dined on The Hill often. He lived in New York City for a few months where you can find some of the best Italian food in the world. And he's been to Italy many times. He said the Lasagna at Pazzo Uptown could possibly be the best he's ever tasted. It's that Good! Check out the menu. There are all kinds of Appetizers (here's a few--Calamari Fritto, Meatballs, Crispy Eggplant), Toasts like Bruschetta, Crispy Polenta Cakes, Burrata & more! We got together with 4 couples last Saturday evening to dine at Platia Greek Kouzina in Frisco. First we stopped by Sheila & Bill's house to sip on a glass of wine just to get the palate ready and enjoy good company! Platia is BYOB so be sure to bring your favorite bottle with you! Jeri had the Lamb Chops Pa'i'dakia. She's still talking about how good they were! The guys, including Rick, ordered the Yiros (Gyros) Platter. OMG! Not only was it terrific but each plate had enough to feed 2 people! Sheila & I ordered the Greek Salad / Elliniki and we couldn't have been happier.
