After serving her country in the Navy and her community as a local CNA, Navy veteran and mother of three Rachel Metzer is taking on a new challenge: building her family's permanent home in Rhinelander.

Partnering with local volunteers through Habitat for Humanity Northwoods Wisconsin, Metzer is putting in "sweat equity" hours to help construct a foundation for her family's future.

CareAVanners are closing in on the end of their first week in Sayner. Lynn Ann's Campground provides some live music to help them relax after a day of building home #30. We are grateful for the hospitality of Angie and the whole Lynn Ann's team.

We are taking a rest day! We have gotten A LOT done! If you are looking for something fun to do Rhinelander has their Redikulus Dae
Redikulus Dae in downtown Rhinelander, Wisconsin, is an annual one-day street sale and community celebration. Held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the multi-decade tradition features sidewalk sales, food vendors, and crazy activities organized by local merchants.
Event Highlights
Sidewalk Sales: Deep discounts and promotions from downtown businesses.
Food & Crafts: Local food choices, snacks, and craft vendors lining the streets.
History: Started in the early 1960s when local business owners dressed in silly hats and costumes to draw shoppers.

Another Rest Day, the slab will be laid at the Sayner location. I've always found the laying of the slab a fun thing to watch! Stop by if you would like to see a firm foundation created in real time! Should start mid morning.
