Another keyboard with some sort of liquid spilled inside. This time a Nord Stage 2EX. There was even a guitar pick stuck to whatever the stuff was. This one belongs to a religious organization/church.

Putting in a plug for Tone Tailors in Lancaster. Almost three years ago I bought from them this MIM Martin SC13E Sunburst to use in church. I love this guitar. Easy to play and sounds great through the church sound system.
This past Monday I walked away with a Martin D18, again from Tone Tailors. Thank you TT for allowing me to try a variety of instruments before settling on this one. I was originally interested in a used DE Retro + they had in their showroom, but this American made D18 spoke to me.

Gibson Titan in terrible condition. Mice droppings, rust, bulged caps, etc. And what’s up with that bare wire sticking out of the power plug?

Peavey Pacer in the shop for general cleanup and a new input jack. Note the date on the circuit board from 1975. It’s amazing how many of these old Peavey amps are still out there.

Nord Piano 5, less than 2 years old with weird response from the keys. Normally this is caused by worn contacts but this one acted a bit differently. After pulling the contact/PCB assemblies I discovered the contacts on the middle board were installed backwards. So instead of soft to loud it was loud all the time or no response at all. This was a supposedly “new” unit from Guitar Center but at some point in its history it had evidence of being worked on before. Also missing screws and hardware. Customer states it had never been in the shop before. Who knows?
Note, the blue strip in the picture is used in Nord Grand. The gray ones are Piano 5.

Replacing the stock caps with these F & Ts really quieted down this humming, noisy Hot Rod Deluxe. And the volume goes to 12 !
