Today local (and NYT-bestselling) author Evelyn Skye unveils her latest book: Ideal Life! This magical, heartwarming, thought-provoking novel takes place right here in The Peninsula. Join us live for the launch event on Saturday, August 22nd from 6:30–8:00 PM at Fireside Books & More (2421 Broadway St., Redwood City). RSVP at our link in bio.

🧀 Friday, 8/14 (12–3 PM): Cheese Pop-Up
Our friends from Kitchen Table Travel Co. will be parked outside with their cheese & charcuterie truck! Plus, Georgette will be on hand to give you custom cheese pairing recommendations for whatever book you pick up.

📚 Saturday, 8/15 (10:15 AM): Children’s Storytime
Bring the little ones by for our weekly storytime! Perfect for kids of all ages.

💖 Saturday, 8/15 (All Day): Bookstore Romance Day
Calling all romance & romantasy lovers! Stop by to check out our special features table or browse the section. Bonus: Get a FREE sticker with any romance book purchase (while supplies last)!

🍦 Calling all readers! One month left for our Summer Reading Challenge! 📚✨

The Fireside Summer Reading Challenge will end on August 31st. Readers of ALL ages (yes, adults, that means you too!) should grab their trackers and complete them to win prizes!

How it works: 1️⃣ Grab a reading tracker in the store. 2️⃣ Every time you finish a book, write the title on an ice cream scoop and color it in. 🎨 3️⃣ Bring it back to show us and earn a small prize for each scoop you color! You don’t have to color in all the scoops– just earn prizes for however many you’ve finished!

Have you already finished your cone? Bring it to us so we can proudly display it!🍧

Next week is Indie Author Week at Fireside 😍📖

July 27-31 local independent authors will be in store to meet readers and sell their work. They are activists, artists, coaches, and doctors and their work spans genres and formats. We even have a couple of returning authors – welcome back Alana Karen and Serentripity zine!

All proceeds from sales of their books, zines, novels, and merch go directly to the authors. Please stop by and support indie 🙌🏻

Looking for weekend plans? We’ve got a packed lineup at Fireside Books & More. Here is what’s happening this weekend:

🧀 Fri 7/17 (12-3 PM): Cheese Pop Up – Kitchen Table Travel Co.’s cheese and charcuterie truck is back outside the store! Stop by and let Georgette suggest the perfect cheese pairing for your next read.

🥂📚 Fri 7/17 (5-8:30 PM): The “Book Club” – Our free monthly social event is back, and so is Book Trivia! Come with friends or form a spontaneous team. Drinks available for purchase.

🧸 Sat 7/18 (10:15 AM): Children’s Storytime – Bring the kiddos for our weekly storytime, perfect for kids of all ages.

🌉 Sun 7/19 (4:30-6 PM): Lost Treasures of San Francisco Author Talk – Join author Maria Lenhart in conversation with Adele Fukuba as they take us on a nostalgic journey through the City by the Bay. Space is limited, so make sure to RSVP!

Join us for a nostalgic look back at SF’s recent past 🌉🫶🏻

Like chatting with a group of longtime residents, you'll hear about hot fudge sundaes at Blum’s, visits to the giant Christmas tree at City of Paris, jazz in the Fillmore, braving the winds for a Giants game at Candlestick, and listening to the Grateful Dead at Winterland on New Year’s Eve.

These and many other bygone pleasures are captured in Lost Treasures of San Francisco, by Maria Lenhart. Lenhart will be in conversation with Adele Fukuba on July 19 at 4:30pm at Fireside.

This event is free but please RSVP using the calendar at firesiderwc.com/events to help us anticipate attendance.
