It is figuring out what we CAN let go…

Sometimes, it helps to ask someone who knows us well as we are the hardest on ourselves to see clearly what others do…yes?

How many of you have seen craft projects using old books? I have seen some amazing works of art and there are even good craft books out there to give us ideas...

I just can't bring myself to cut into old books though. And this picture and what it says is one of the biggest reasons why!

I'll never forget about the scene in After Earth where Will Smith's character is talking to his daughter and she shows him the book Moby Dick and how she got it from a museum or somewhere like that. That it was something to be in possession of an actual book...

I fear that we are a society who are losing the understanding of how important the old books are...especially our history books.

I have large bound volumes of the New York Times front pages from the 1920's to the 1940's and an LA Times of 100 years front pages up to the 1970's. I'll never get rid of these books...our history is here. We need to keep it always available so we do not make some of our past mistakes again...just sayin'.

Getting ready to do some creating and selling on a new website that my husband will help me get going soon...actually, the only help I can be is providing pictures!!! He does all the rest!

Also, selling items "to create" on eBay and also on my personal website.

I certainly miss the shop I had and my wonderful landlords back in Redfield, South Dakota. The experience having a physical storefront, for a time, was a good one and gives me confidence to get something going again!

It has been a long time since visiting a Hobby Lobby or any other craft supply store. Is it because, deep down, I have a mindset of "repurpose and reuse"? I think so.

One of my favorite times of relaxing are walking abandoned railroad tracks. Often, here is a place of quiet and the mounds of dirt on either side call to me as I see bits of metal, glass, china and other things poking out...items buried from long ago. These are hallowed dumping grounds of stuff!

So, I bring my bags and a digging tool or stick and prepare for an adventure. I am thankful for my husband, Todd who doesn't mind the stuff I bring home...getting the sink area quite dirty cleaning these precious items to use in the yard, the fairy garden or whatever craft item I create.

The cost...only my time, sweat and maybe a few muscle aches from carrying the load home!

CREATING is a beautiful and spiritual thing for me!

I love the Lord and He is the greatest Creator of all, don'tcha think?!

He created you and me...and we are all quite unique!!!
