Debbie had asked me to build her an urn. She also wanted me to build one for myself at the same time. I used figured Walnut for hers and figured Maple for mine. It was a difficult thing to do but it also gave me some closure. Not sure I’ll ever make one of these again.

I never realized that a big part of my passion for woodworking was to make Debbie proud of me when she saw one of my finished pieces. Consulting her through the design process was a routine part of most of my builds. I tried to motivate myself to go back out to the shop today but my heart just isn’t in it. I guess time will take care of that but it will never be the same. Miss you baby.

Happy Birthday to this beautiful lady. She has brought so much joy into this family. The past couple days have been pretty rough. My hope and prayers are that she can have a much better day today. Just a little relief from the constant battle she’s been in. We’ll take up the fight again tomorrow. Just one day doesn’t feel like too much to ask for. I love you with all my heart
