"A Snowball's Chance Tree Farm." Weird name, cool history! Husband and wife team (who started out as next door neighbors) know a little something about running a seasonal family business. "How do we make this land work for us?" HE bought the almost one acre of land that was surrounded by the 15 acres owned by HER parents. "He lives on a postage stamp" HER dad said. HIS friends called the fixer-u

pper home & property, "Hell's Half Acre." A short time after the Tree Farm plan was set in motion, the owner of a snowball stand on Liberty Road told HER dad that he had to get out of the business and get the shed moved. HER dad said, "I'll buy the shed and move it for you." The purchase price was $1! And so, as the snowball shed traveled down Marriottsville Road, a Snowball's Chance In Hell's Half-Acre was born....we shortened and cleaned up the name a tad. The original shed has since been painted from it's rainbow motif to a more neutral color, and now stands as the office for Tree sales.

It was a whirlwind of a weekend, and we are windburnt, sunburnt, exhausted, caked with mud and FULL OF JOY!

Pluto TV blessed us with the opportunity to spread a LOT Christmas Cheer!. Every year Pluto TV participates in a holiday initiative, and this year, they teamed up with a number of Christmas Tree Farms across the US in order to provide FREE CHRISTMAS TREES as a surprise for so many families

We were both thankful and humbled to be able to connect with new customers, re-connect with past customers and to get a chance to talk to each and everyone who came out to support our small family farm (without even knowing about the surprise that awaited them).

Many customers chose to "pay it forward" by HEAVILY adding to the tip jar. Which was split between the kids that worked hard directing traffic, cutting down/bailing trees, greeting guests and helping tie trees to cars. THEIR holidays will be even more special now too!

We are closed for the season, and are looking forward to enjoying the holidays with our family (many of whom you met in the field this weekend). We TRULY are a family business. And we appreciate the fact that you chose to bring your family to OUR farm this year.
