Well, as my last day before retirement comes to an end, I just want to let everyone know how much I appreciate every customer who came through our doors and trusted us to provide the products you needed. I have always enjoyed showing newcomers the basics of fishing. Thank you for the seasoned fishermen who kept us up to date on the area lakes and new products they wanted us to stock.
We have been blessed with fantastic employees who we could rely on to help run the business. We met people from all walks of life and many of them have become lifelong friends.
We started this business in a 10 by 10 storage building with a fist full of credit cards, a 5 year plan and a lot of praying that we weren't making a mistake. Well, 17 years later, I can definitely say those prayers were answered in a big way. God is good!
See you on the water!

Reminder:
3 days left until we close the shop. All rod and reel repair must be picked up by 7pm Saturday.

While I believe the area needs full service independent tackle dealer, it is time for me to retire. Hopefully, someone will take over Outhouse Tackle Co so it can continue to be an important part of the community.

Next week will be our last tournament of the season. The water levels should be down enough to pull the fish out to the outer trees and bushes.
We will also award the bounties next week.
Come on out so we can end the year with a bang. We hope to see you there.

The weather will be good so, the Thursday Night Falls Lake Wildcat tournament will go on as scheduled. The water is high and recent reports indicate the fishing is excellent. We will need to be cautious of debris.

08/13/2024

I just got off the phone with a Wildlife officer and he verified that only the outer 2 lanes of Upper Barton Creek ramp are closed. He stated the 2 inner lanes are still open.
He also stated that they have started moving water through the dam today. So, hopefully all four lanes will usable by the end of the week.
With the water being drawn down, debris trapped against the shoreline could be pulled out toward the center of the lake. So be careful.
WE ARE STILL WATCHING THIS VERY CLOSELY BUT, AT THIS MOMENT, WE PLAN TO HOLD THE FALLS LAKE WILDCAT TOURNAMENT AS SCHEDULED.
Stay tuned.

Stopped by Upper Barton Creek ramp this morning to take a look at the conditions and this sign was posted.

Well, the rain keeps coming down and the wind is picking up. The lake is 2+ feet high and rising fast. The conditions are too risky especially for moving around after dark. So, we are going to CANCEL the Falls Lake Wildcat tournament scheduled for tonight.
Hopefully, we will see you out there next week.
