I have been waiting to share a secret. 🤫
I have never been very good at keeping a secret.
It's no secret that America is 250 years old. A lot of people are celebrating.

I want to celebrate this special year as I grow EA Books.

It's also no secret that I am helping EABooks Publishing attract more authors. We usually have a Christmas in July sale that gives authors just $100 off our publishing packages. But this year, to help EA Books thrive under my leadership, I thought ... maybe... just maybe ... we could do an even bigger promotion.
Then, I thought about America's birthday! I began to wonder if it would be possible to offer $250 off. Would that be too much of a hit to our bottom line? Maybe. But, after all, this is a year to celebrate!

I was nine years old when America turned 200. I still remember earning a special Bicentennial Girl Scout Badge that year.
My school picture had the American flag behind me, and a small Liberty Bell. Don't laugh. It was the 70s. Those little things stuck with me and made me realize it was a special time.
I remember people talking about how important a year this was for America. They were right. I probably won't be around to celebrate America's tricentennial birthday. And that made me think. I need to do something special and really big to commemorate America's 250th birthday.
Therefore, no matter what it does to the bottom line, we are gonna do it!
