About two years ago I decided I would find the biggest canvas I could thrift and turn it into a huge replica of the “Bold and Brash” and well 20 coats of paint over a portrait of Tuscan country side print from homegoods….
It’s about 3’x4’ and hangs above stitch’s pineapple bed in our stairway
FYI we did NOT put stitch’s paw print on it on purpose. That was a clear act of terrierism he committed while we blocked his toy bin with the drying masterpiece.

My senior studio (aka what I’ve spent the past four years ramping up to) started two days ago and we are already in fully swing. Get ready for the wreckage. 🦝 I’m dubbing this stuff to be Trashion.
Entire details of my collection will be announced after the show April 29th held at Talley Student Union so been on the lookout for tickets for the FTD showcase.
Until then enjoy the spastic ADHD-controlled posts of the process. No I gotta get back. No time to waste.

We may have fun sourcing, but please remember this is humanity’s reality.
Clothing in bales just like hay. Ready to be dumped across seas. This is only one very small thrift outlet (of the thousands across America) in which gets so many clothes donated they charge customers by the pound.
We should be striving to invest in good quality and/or existing apparel, not in bulk.
Try second hand or thrifting instead of Shein or Forever 21 for your next “haul”, many brand new items (many still with tags!) are sitting there.

This isn’t a post to shame anyone who buys from fast fashion brands, this is not me saying you’re evil if you buy anything new, this is just a reminder from one human to another:
Enough stuff exists.
Try to use what we’ve already created, even if you’re using it in a different way than intended, as often as possible.

This is what my passion is, this is what drives my everyday, because honestly, the vast majority of our donations end up like this, yet only a very small fraction of society A. Knows and B. Does anything about it.

Finally get to share with you guys...

This is a two piece set I made for Hemline for Hearts, a project to spread awareness about heart disease and conditions.
This was a very personal endeavor to me because, I, myself suffer from POTS:

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a condition in which a change from lying to standing causes an abnormally large (or higher than normal) increase in heart beat rate.[1] This occurs with symptoms that may include lightheadedness, trouble thinking, blurred vision, or weakness.

Because of this, I have less energy and that’s why so much of my posts are random and unscheduled and whatnot but being healthy needs to be my number one priority on consistent posting :/
BUT I am very grateful for the many friends I have made while exploring how this condition effects me and those I love.
So please take the time to go red.
P.S. the POTS color is aqua because we have to drink so much friggin water!!!!
