Mary Shelley's Frankenstein π§ββοΈπ«
Published in 1818
This story was detailed and captivating. The Olde Time descriptive language forced me to slow down and take my time, but I'm glad I did. Shelley pulls you in to a dark and distant world if you allow yourself the time and focus to get there.
The most surprising thing about this book was the the pulling of your heart for the monster that Frankenstein created. I expected to see his creature as only the murder I had been told he was. The story dives in to a 1st person POV from the Monsters perspective and it was a surprising tear-jerker for myself at least. The thought of some one creating you only to abhorred you so deeply without substantiated reason. Being brought in to this world only to be told you're a monster. It's heartbreaking. But it shows you the reality some children go through. You can see exactly how and why they can grow to have evil in their hearts π€ Born and created by some one else's hands and yet condemned the moment they aren't exactly what the creator was expecting.
This book would be great for everyone to read in my opinion. It can help give you a fresh perspective to the lengths humans will go to to not be lonely and what happens when the rest of the world shuts those individuals out. THAT is what truly creates monsters.
I would have given this book a 5/5 stars buy I'm picky with giving those out and my only remark for taking away half of a star is repetitive language that was used. I felt similar sayings and phrases were used too often. However that is my only criticism of this book. I loved just everything about it.
Highly recommend this classic if you haven't read it yet! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈπ«
