Good morning
I need to tell you of several scams going around Facebook these days
The first is they have a gaming system their sick son can no longer play. They are heartbroken each time they see the unused game system and need to give it to someone with children or grandchildren so it won't just sit gathering dust.
But you need to pay shipping. They take your shipping money and disappear. They also get your name, address and everything they need to steal your identity. With the shipping being $20 or more.
I admin DOZENS of groups and chats daily, many I don't even participate in other than 1)I have extra time on my hands and 2) I have computer skills. I delete at least 10 of these EACH DAY.
There is one in Facebook marketplace where they are giving away cars or RVs.
Wife is dead, she wanted it to go to someone who needed it . But they moved and it was left several states over and you have to give your info to a transport company only 1 grand, for an 8 year old car or several for a nice RV .
Another is a work for me scam.
They will give you a job and you need a new computer.
But you have to pay shipping. They have you buy a prepay debit card and give them the numbers over the phone at the end of the interview.
Only $100 shipping.
But they also had you fill out the W2 over the phone which has your bank number for direct deposit, name, address, email and EVERYTHING to steal your identity.
Then your Facebook begins posting the same scam in groups and you didn't for months to get your identity back with no help from Facebook and you can't even get Facebook to delete your account because they change the phone numbers to all of your accounts.
All you can do is create a new account and tell your friends to report and then block your old account.
If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is to good to be true.
