I'm very proud of how this deodorant cream has turned out! 😀
This deodorant is meant to be applied with an applicator (we have those stocked in the shop) or with your finger. I knew I didn't want another plastic tube, and I wasn't sold on cardboard tubes either. Then I discovered deodorant cream, and my entire world was ROCKED
Many of us were taught that if we can't pronounce an ingredient, it must be bad for us. I'm here to challenge that idea. The only way something loses its power or becomes less scary is when you understand what it is
Ingredients you've probably heard of:
Beeswax, Mango Butter, Castor Oil, Jojoba Oil. Sunflower Oil, Kaolin Clay, Arrowroot Powder, Vitamin E
Ingredients you may not have heard of:
Cetearyl (seh-teer-ee-ul) Alcohol: A fatty alcohol derived from coconut or palm oil. NOT the drying kind found in hand sanitizer. It helps improve glide and gives the deodorant its creamy texture
Babassu (bah-bah-soo) Oil: An alternative to coconut oil that's derived from Babassu palm kernels. It softens skin, feels lightweight, and is gentle on sensitive underarms
NatraSil (nat-ra-sil): A plant derived alternative to silicone made from olive oil. It improves spreadability and gives the deodorant that silky, smooth feel
Zinc Ricinoleate (riss-in-oh-lee-ate): The odor-fighting MVP. Derived from castor oil and zinc, it captures odor molecules like nobody's business
Magnesium Hydroxide (hy-drox-ide): A gentle alternative to baking soda derived from magnesium minerals. It helps neutralize odor without being as harsh
Magnesium Carbonate (car-buh-nate): Derived from magnesium mineral deposits. It helps absorb moisture and supports odor control throughout the day
Caprylyl (cap-rill-il) Glycol (gly-cool): This one is here because my anxiety likes to prepare for every possible scenario
Most deodorant balms are anhydrous, meaning they're made without water and generally don't require a traditional preservative system. But we're all human. This helps provide an extra layer of protection so if a little moisture sneaks into the jar, the product has additional support. It's derived from caprylic acid, which is commonly found in coconut and palm oils
