Some of the horsehair pieces from last week😍

As many of you know, I had originally planned to open custom spots again on June 1. The plan was for them to be limited, but after looking at my current workload and the number of April customs I still have in progress, I’ve decided they need to be even more limited than I first anticipated.

My goal is to have the remaining April customs wrapped up by the end of June, and I don’t want to overbook myself in the process.

Because of that, I will only be opening 5 horsehair custom spots tomorrow, June 1, at 12:00 PM EST.

There will be a deposit listing available on the website. Once those 5 spots are gone, they’re gone. I’ll reassess in a few weeks and decide when I’ll open additional spots.

Summer is a busy season around here between family, the farm, custom orders, and everything else life throws my way, so I’m trying to be realistic about what I can take on while still giving every piece the time and attention it deserves.

At this time, I will only be opening spots for horsehair customs, as those continue to be my most requested items.

Starting the week off strong with this beautiful custom horsehair set that I just finished up 💛🔥

The past few weeks I’ve really been trying to get more organized with customs by picking around 5 orders each week to fully focus on. Honestly, it’s been helping a lot and I’ve been getting a good amount knocked out. But as most of y’all know… some orders end up taking a little longer than expected, especially once add-ons and extra details get involved 😅

For everyone who grabbed one of my April custom spots- those were originally estimated at about 8-12 weeks. We’re getting close to that 8 week mark now, and while I have quite a few completed, I still have several more in progress. So some orders will definitely be closer to that 12 week timeframe, and a couple may possibly run a little over.

I truly appreciate everyone’s patience more than you know. Between all the customs orders, farm life, and summer break starting with 3 kids… I’m doing my best to balance it all while still making sure every piece leaves here exactly how I want it to 🫶

I do still plan on opening a VERY limited amount of custom spots again on June 1st - even more limited than last round. I’m really trying to keep turnaround times manageable and avoid overbooking myself moving forward.

This set is one of those orders that came together even better than I pictured in my head. 🤌🏻

I don’t get a ton of requests for tripping collars because they are BIG pieces and definitely take some extra work… but man are they fun to build when they all come together like this.

The mix of the black and white cowhide with the horsehair details, the red buck stitching on black leather just look fabulous . Probably one of my favorite combinations I’ve done in awhile. 🔥

Definitely a set that stands out without being over the top.

A little sneak peek at a few pieces finished up this week 🫶

Every one of these are horsehair inlays, each carrying a story and memories that can never truly be replaced. Maybe to some it’s “just tack”… but to me, these are some of the most meaningful pieces I get the opportunity to create.

There’s still dozens more memorial pieces sitting on my list waiting their turn, and while I wish I could work faster sometimes, these are the kind of projects that simply can’t be rushed. One piece at a time, with the care and attention they deserve.

Very thankful for the trust people place in me to create something so personal.

Working with horsehair this morning and washing it out… and it caught me off guard for a second.

Not in a bad way, just one of those things you don’t expect.
If you’ve ever been around horses, you know that smell. It’s hard to explain, but it’s one of those things you either get or you don’t.

And then it kind of hit me… this isn’t just hair.
It belonged to a horse that was someone’s best friend. A partner. A piece of what use to be their everyday life.

I think sometimes in the middle of the work, it’s easy to just focus on the task. But moments like that remind me what this really is for people.

Kind of weird to think about if you’re not a horse person maybe haha… but if you are, you probably understand exactly what I mean.
& I’ll always love the smell of horse hair 🫶

I didn’t always use to be this way but boy running a business and farm, and having 3 kids… life adds up FAST.

And if I’m being real - my business messages get answered most the time… it’s my friends & family that get pushed to the back burner half the time 😂

If you’ve texted me and I haven’t replied… just know I probably read it, got distracted, and never made it back 💀
