Some Mondays start with coffee.

Mine starts with an all-white bridal bouquet and a whole lot of flowers to press.

Today I’m working with roses, orchids, hydrangea, astilbe, and delicate bell-shaped blooms, each one needing a different approach to preserve their beauty for years to come.

Every bouquet teaches me something new, and this one is no exception.

I’m grateful for the florist referral, grateful for the trust, and grateful that I get to turn wedding flowers into lasting keepsakes.

Now it’s time to carefully take this beauty apart so it can be recreated in a whole new form. 🤍🌿

Creativity connects with nature.

Wisconsin plant people… did you know you can overwinter cannas indoors instead of rebuying them every year? 👀🌿

I’ve kept this one alive for YEARS.

My routine:☀️ Bright indoor light💧 Minimal winter watering🌱 Weekly watering closer to spring🔥 Back outside after frost danger passes

And look at her now. Still surviving and wait til she has a few weeks outside! She’ll be gorgeous.

Would you keep tropicals indoors for winter or start fresh every year?

Sometimes nature gives you a second chance in the smallest way. 🌿

If your philodendron breaks or a piece falls off, don’t toss it. Look for the node (that little knoll on the stem), place it in water, and give it time. Before long, roots begin stretching like little river branches looking for life again.

I honestly love growing plants in water. Watching the roots form feels like watching the plant wake back up. ✨

You can keep growing it hydroponically by eventually adding fertilizer to the water, or once the roots are strong enough, place it back into the pot to create a fuller plant.

And yes… pothos are amazing in water too. 🌱

Preserving bridal bouquet’s in silica is one of my favorite ways to work with dried flowers! 🌺

Roses especially dry so beautifully. Tip 1: Always make sure the flowers have no visible moisture on them before placing in silica!
Tip 2: Make sure the center and the outside petals are removed to give the flower a better chance of drying successfully. Especially if you see wilted or browned petals.
Tip 3: Fill the container with a bed of silica to position your flowers on and fill from the center of the rose first! Then start filling in the sides slowly building up the silica around the base of the flower.
Tip: 4 Last top off the flowers with remaining silica making sure all flowers are fully covered! Place in a dry, dark, warm space and cover tightly. Come back in 5-10 days to check to see they are fully dry before removal.
Tip:5 Store your flowers in a closed container with silica packets away from sunlight, for best results!

Bridal bouquet preservation is so much more than simply pressing flowers flat. 🌿

Sometimes blooms need to be carefully rebuilt petal by petal to bring back their movement, softness, and shape after the preservation process. Each layer becomes part of the story again.

Working on these late last night reminded me why I love this art form so much. There’s something beautiful about transforming fleeting wedding flowers into lasting botanical artwork filled with texture, emotion, and intention. ✨

Every bouquet reacts differently.Every flower has its own personality. And every piece becomes one of a kind.

Would you preserve your wedding flowers? 💍🌸

Before these flowers become forever… they get buried in silica, slowly transforming into keepsakes meant to last for generations. 🌸

This stage is one of the most important parts of flower preservation. Silica carefully dries the blooms while helping preserve their shape, texture, and beauty before they’re reconstructed into custom artwork.

These soft lavender roses paired with deep violet lisianthus are currently in the preservation process and already feel timeless. The contrast of delicate pastels with rich jewel tones is absolutely beautiful together. 🤍

Every bouquet tells a story. My job is to help that story continue long after the wedding day has passed.

Another bridal bouquet made its way home with me today! This one is stunning look at the lavender roses and purple listianthus! I can’t wait to do my hybrid approach to this bouquet! I will have some fully dried in silica and some will be pressed petal by petal for reconstruction. Follow to see how this one turns out!

Why is my prayer plant closing up? 🌿👀

Prayer plants communicate through movement, and sometimes tightly folded leaves can signal thirst, stress, or environmental changes.

This beauty closed itself up overnight, so I gave her a deep bottom watering… and watched her slowly open back up again. 🤍

Plants really do tell us what they need when we learn how to pay attention.

One of my favorite parts of plant care is noticing those tiny changes before a plant fully struggles. Sometimes all they need is a little extra care and consistency.

Do your plants ever give you dramatic warning signs too? 😂🌱

Your flowers don’t have to be thrown away.

They can become something you carry with you.

These were made from real memorial blooms—
carefully pressed and preserved by hand.

🤍

If you had something meaningful like this…
would you turn it into a keepsake?
