I often forget to include care and keeping of the beaded birds I sell, so I'll explain here.

As I'm making my birds I start stuffing the body with a foam bubble wrap, not tissue as suggested in the pattern. When the birds get dusty just dampen a cloth and wipe it down. The damp won't hurt the bubble foam.
I make sure the bird isn't stuffed so full it's stiff. If at times the body looks under stuffed in places just gently manipulate it until the foam has made the body the way you want it. If the beak bends unnaturally, just gently reshape it with your fingers. I usually just run the beak between my thumb and finger and it turns out just the way I want it.
I say gently with your manipulations because the beads are made of glass and the thread it's sewn on is nylon. There's always a chance a bead has been nicked or bumped hard so the smooth edge is no longer smooth. Rough handling could cause a damaged bead to cut the thread and the sewing of the bird could possibly become unraveled. Yikes! For this reason I don't recommend giving one to a child.

Hi folks. I'm almost finished with a bird for a special friend and am back to take orders. I only intend to take a few orders at a time so I don't feel so guilty for taking so long in getting some orders filled.

If you have something in particular you want created, let me know and I'll let you know if it's doable and when I expect I can get it done.

I just finished a Ruby Throat Hummingbird and have a Phoenix to make, when it is done, I'll be open for orders. It feels so good to be back on my feet and sorting through the beads.

Sorry I've been absent for so long. Its been a long 3 weeks. 1 week too busy to do any beading, then I came down with a nasty cold/fever which put me down for a week, and then a week of gathering energy and catching up on housework and paperwork.
BUT, now I'm ready to get back to work! Today is grocery and errands day and tomorrow I fire the jets and get going on filling a couple of orders and hopefully getting a few more to work on. I get to make my first necklace! This one will be a raven. I'm anxious to get going with it.
