#1 - PRE WASHING DISHES
Most dishwasher detergents today use enyme-based formulas that target and dissolve food particles. If there's nothing for these enzymes to cling to, they can become too aggressive and potentially etch glassware and cause damage to your dishes over time Plus, pre-rinsing wastes water and energy. Simply scrape off excess food and let your dishwaser do what i was designed for!
#2 - SKIPPING RINSE AID
For streak-free, spotless dishes - rinse aid is a must. This product is designed to help water slide off your dishes more efficiently, preventing water spots, streaks, and cloudy residue. Modern dishwashers are designed to use less water and most are a condensation dry system. Rinse aid helps by reducing surface tension which allows water to drain and quickly and evenly. It can also prevent mineral buildup from hard water, protecting your dishware and keeping them looking their best with each use.
#3 - NEGLECTING SOFT DISPOSAL FILTER
A key step in maintaining peak performance of your dishasher is cleaning out the filter at the bottom of your tub. This filter catches food particles and debris, preventing them from reciculating onto your dishes. If left unchecked, buildup can lead to odors, poor drainaige, and possibly even residue on your clean dishes. Simply remove the filter in the bottom center of your dishwasher tub, twist counter-clockwise and lift. Rinse and srub any debris before reinstalling.
