It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we will be closing our doors on August 31st.
When we opened Jenn’s Brick House, our dream was to be a glimmer of sunshine in this community. We wanted to create a place where creativity, imagination, learning, and connection could thrive. We wanted families to have affordable birthday party options, opportunities for play across all age groups, and experiences that were different from what most LEGO hobby stores offer.
We are incredibly proud of what we were able to accomplish in our short time here. One of our proudest moments was hosting Pulaski’s Junior Brick Masters competition last year and watching kids in our community create, imagine, and believe in themselves.
While we understand that most businesses do not find huge success in their first year, the reality is that after our first couple of months, many days passed where no one came through our doors. Even on those quiet days, the expenses continued — utilities, staffing, inventory, rent, and overhead. As much as we believed in this dream, we have reached a point where we can no longer sustain the physical storefront. Today, we received approval from our landlord to end our lease early.
It is heartbreaking to pour your heart into something you love and watch it slowly slip through your fingers.
Over the next three months, we hope our community will rally around us one last time. If you have ever thought about stopping in, now is the time. Come visit us. Share your LEGO stories with us — the stories we may never otherwise get the chance to hear. Bring your kids. Ask questions. Hang out. Let us help you find that special set, minifigure, or brick. Every purchase during these final months truly helps us more than you know as we work through the difficult process of closing a storefront.
We also want to share a few important updates as we begin this transition:
• All gift cards and store credit must be used prior to August 31st.
• All sales at the time of purchase will be final.
• We are no longer accepting bulk LEGO or used set trade-ins.
• We will still consider sealed sets and minifigure collections for trade-in or purchase on a case-by-case basis.
And on a personal note — while we are no longer accepting used set trade-ins in general, if anyone happens to have the Black Tuxedo Cat set they would like to trade in, that is one set I personally would still love to have and would happily consider as an exception. ❤️
And while our physical doors may close, this is not the end of us completely. We will continue our online presence through Whatnot and will continue doing shows there. So if you ever need LEGO advice, have LEGO questions, or just want to continue being part of our community, please come find us there.
If there are any LEGO questions you have between now and the day we lock our doors for the last time, please come ask us. And afterwards, please ask us on Whatnot.
I hope that if you have ever walked through our doors, you felt my love for LEGO and my love for this community. I hope in some small way we inspired creativity, kindness, imagination, or connection for you or your children.
Every single day, we all wake up with the opportunity to make choices. We can choose to try or choose not to. We can choose to do good or not. And we never truly know whether something small that we create might someday change a person, a family, or even a community unless we are willing to try.
Even though this ending is incredibly painful for me personally, I will never regret trying.
To every single person who walked through our doors, made a purchase, attended an event, shared a kind post, told a friend about us, or supported us in any way — thank you. Your support meant more than I could ever fully express.
If I do not have the opportunity to see you over these next three months, please know how deeply grateful I am for all of you.
With love and gratitude,
Jenn’s Brick House
