Monday Update:
Back to ICU. This move upset me terribly. The doctors performed a small incision on each upper side of his chest to ‘release air from his body’ I thought….someone has been reading their Foxfire books and….maybe we should just stick a pin in him. Yep, I get discouraged too!
BUT
When I came in to see him this evening, his color is good and his skin doesn’t crackle with all the air it was holding in. Thank goodness for strange surgical procedures!!!
They will probably do surgery in the morning to rid his upper body of the gunk the chest tubes aren’t able to get out. And maybe fix the hole in his lung. I’m just thankful he’s awake, alert, and not swollen! God is Good! Thanks to everyone! Please keep those prayers coming especially in the morning. ♥️

Sunday Update:
Sorry I missed yesterday, but there was no new news, which was a good thing…..Today on the other hand, there is new news. The team ran a CT scan yesterday. The doctor came in with the results today. Michael’s hole in his lung has not gotten any larger, yay, but it hasn’t gotten any smaller either. So….next step may be surgery to close the hole. The team will let us know this evening or tomorrow. I’ll pass along the info as soon as I can. Please keep praying! He is also wheezing a lot. He has treatments for the wheezing but they help briefly. Again, I can’t thank everyone enough for the prayers, kindness, generosity, visits, texts, hugs, FaceTime moments (special one from Portugal 💜), and love so many have shown us during this trying time! Know that Michael, our family, and I appreciate, and love every one of you! Keep those prayers coming! Thank you!
Friday Update:
Yesterday the Dr wanted to try something different, he wanted to get the large chest tube ‘gone’ so he ordered it clamped off to see how things would go….must not have went well because in the middle of the night they came in and unclamped, then started pumping again. They said, nothing serious, just needs more drainage. He’s resting now.
On a positive…..we are out of ICU! Yayyyyyy!!! We’re in a step down from ICU section! Thank the Lord!!! We’re happy! God is Good, and Thank you all for continued prayers and generosity.
You’re the Best!
Thursday Update:
Michael is still in ICU. He was scheduled for a room yesterday, but those big (size 13) feet, stepped on his dangling chest tube and it developed into an air leak. My fist thought was ‘fix a flat’😬 Good thing doctors don’t think like I do. We’re waiting on the doctors to make rounds now to see if we can move out of ICU.🙏🏼
His oxygen levels are great, averaging 95-96🩵 and he’s down to 3, 0 meaning no oxygen needed (not sure about medical jargon).
I will check back later to let everyone know we are out of ICU and in a room. Positive vibes😉 Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers 💜

UPDATE…….
Another chest tube was inserted in Michael today. His 3rd, of course!
I hope this is the last one needed.
He also sat in a chair for the first time today. He’s exhausted and I can definitely see his eyes beginning to open since all the additional swelling!
Those from Occupational Therapy plan to visit later in the week. God is good and I’m exhausted! Thanks to all for praying. I will definitely update again.

NEW UPDATE:
Michael gave us all quite a scare yesterday! I thought we had lost him for sure. He kept telling me he didn’t think he was gonna make it……But God has other plans! After they put the second chest tube in, the draining began and he’s been doing much better today! As the nurses tell him, it’s nice to finally see those baby blues❤️For two days he only had slits for eyes. We’re now working on reducing the amount of H2O provided by the mask, and large tubes he’s been using……which means, no ventilator! Thank the Lord! Right now his oxygen levels are good! After lungs heal more, we will work on broken bones and physical therapy! Thank you to everyone for praying! God definitely is moving this mountain! Keep those faithful prayers coming and we love you all!
